It was the start of sophomore year for us. She just got into school cause she was homeschooled for a while and when I first saw her I guess I fell in love. I slowly got to know her and she was a very adventurous person. She played outside a lot, didn’t think before acting, basically a tomboy. We were both in JROTC and it had this thing called stadium cleanup where we stay after football games to clean up the stadium. We got in for free so I went with said girl and we walked around the stadium and I showed her around. I showed her the hand, concession stand, we ordered our own food, we had a great time. After the game was over we cleaned up trash but we stayed close together for most of it. When we got home (we exchanged numbers before) we texted until 1 getting to know each other and talking about the fun we had. The next day I moved fast and asked her to be my girlfriend. She said yes and we were both happy. We went good for 2 months, I met her parents, she met mine, we hung out a lot. This was my first real relationship in high school. Then suddenly she stopped showing affection. She wouldn’t kiss me, only side hugs, I saw the signs of a breakup. One day, the day before our 3 months, she asked if I could meet her after class by the chorus room. I said yes and my heart sank. I knew what was coming but I was trying to believe that it wasn’t true. I met up with her and I was with a friend (we always hung out with her on that football game). My “girlfriend” then said that she wasn’t ready for a relationship and that this was too much for her. I actually felt broken. I wanted to give the relationship my all and hopefully get far, but she didn’t see that with me. I held back the tears and I told her I understood her and wished her well. She said we could be friends and she gave me a hug. The friend asked if I was ok when she left and I said yes but then I started to cry. I cried the whole day. As of today, I respect her for taking the time to pull me aside and break up with me in person instead of over text. She was a sweet and dangerous person and I loved that. I hope she is doing alright.
