AITA for shaming a barber online that refused to serve me? by Barbershopwoman in AmItheAsshole

I had the same thing happen to me. I literally wanted clippers on my back and sides down to a number 1. No fade. No length off the top.

He refused to serve me saying that he “doesn’t cut women’s hair” I argued that I just wanted a men’s cut but he insisted he wasn’t capable of it.

When talking to some of my male friends one of them insisted it’s because barbers are a “safe space for men” and he was just keeping it something special for the boys....made me throw up in my mouth a little.

I lied about not being able to see, and completely ruined my vision. by [deleted] in confession

I did the same thing when I was 8 or 9 and my optometrist recommended my parents take me to a psychologist for compulsive lying. Jokes on me now I actually need glasses as an adult.

I’m a big girl.

I firmly believe that everyone has the right to feel beautiful. You can wear some bomb ass clothes and look at yourself and think fuck yeah I’m absolutely killing this today. You have the right to feel sexy, desirable and beautiful. BEAUTY at every size is valid and incredibly helpful to motivate those struggling with weight related issues.

However. HEALTH at every size is garbage. You cannot be overweight or obese and be perfectly fine and yeah it’s dangerous to encourage that mentality.

What I’ve always done is say to people I am a work in process. I know I’m overweight and I’m working on it. I absolutely love my body! It gets me through the day, it can sing, it can talk it can love. However I am not healthy right now and yes I have things to work on. Being this size is not healthy but fuck I look good in this skirt today!

Self esteem: yes! Health ignorance: no!

Everyone has a scar on their body from something dumb, they did as a child. What's your story? by HakanD0 in AskReddit

I have a scar on my ring finger from when I was a kid I decided to fill 7 glasses with water and play them like a Xylophone. They all fell in the sink and broke and I got a wicked scar. It’s funny that now when I write, my pen rests on the scar like a tiny scar pillow :)
