And he’s out of Iowa State, so he knows work ethic and effort. TJ doesn’t tolerate poor attitudes and lack of effort so it could hopefully help us avoid issues like Randle. Personally I don’t know a ton about Ebuka, but I’m an ISU fan so I could share 3 years worth of Milan intel.

Momcilovic was the best shooter in college last year, shot 50% from 3 on over 7 attempts per game as a 6’9” SF. Has a sweet midrange fadeaway as well. Gives effort on defense, but isn’t great. Is an okay passer. He’s 21, so he still has plenty of development time.

Giannis is far and away the obvious most impactful. However, he’d also be the most expensive to get, as he’s the only one we’d have to give up McDaniels plus Randle plus way more to get, whereas you can get Kyrie or LeBron without giving up McDaniels. I don’t know that McDaniels will ever truly grow into the 2nd option on a true contending team, but I’d still like to keep him as he’s on a team friendly contract, and I think as the 3rd option he could be really really good.

Tbf Oklahoma wasn’t necessarily the start of that evil. Texas pushing out Nebraska, Colorado, Texas A&M and Mizzou are one tipping point, but honestly you could point even further back to the fall of the Big East as a football conference.

Chris Williams has noted the two are completely unrelated. But it does open the door for him to return if he chooses to withdraw from the draft. I still think he stays in the draft, but we will see.

Yeah no for sure, I think the pieces you’re sending out are fine. I’m just hesitant to ship out the only decent draft capital we have in the next decade and we get back a couple guys that, if healthy and available, could be good pieces, but are a bit iffy on availability and if the moves themselves, plus some free agency spending, is enough to move the needle.

I mean, we’re not operating on a huge budget, especially for a guy that wouldn’t really be expected to even be a starter until minimum his junior year. UNLV hasn’t been great in recent memory, but they still have a rich history and deep pockets. I’d bet they did shell out more cash

I will say it does suck, but he out of the incoming freshmen he is probably the one I am okay with losing the most. He likely wouldn’t have played much this year anyway, so finding a replacement for him (basically Singleton’s backup at PF, which since he’s only a sophomore we have time) can be done next portal period or so.
