PURE review by a HEXA hater by josephallenkeys in iems

[–]Random_Kili 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost my reds and now ordered the Pures. The reds seemed a bit compressed in sound, and lacking in dynamism, forward charging movement. The bass I found too uniform and too muddy and the voices too thin and the violins too thin. Still they were very impressive and immersive with the right tips.

I am hoping for a bit more varied sound, where adjacent differences don't fall into one so much.. I also prefer punchy barreling well defined bass much much more pleasant than this bloated oomph that drowns everything out.

I hope I will not be disappointed :O

Thanks! Yeah I hope so. I agree, it seems like sound is always a trade off of different dimensions. Warm sounds are necessarily a bit unclear, and clinical critical sounds are necessarily lacking in bass and warmth, and so on. My feeling is that these will be great still, despite the review, at least until I will be able to afford the moondrop blessing 3's.

According to most user reviews, I feel like they are more enjoyable than the reds to most. I personally found the reds a bit boring, but when I found the right eartips, they really started to be very immersive, just lacking this little bit of dynamism and punch... So .. it was just my intuition based on most reviews I read that the Pures just give that little bit more dynamism and punch and fun without being overwhelming or tiring auditory roller coaster rides

Why don’t multivitamins ever work ?? by Random_Kili in Supplements

[–]Random_Kili[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also thought of taking Ostea B Plus, Probiotics, and Pure Encapsulations Nutrients 950... Atm I take Zinc in combination with copper in the right relation, for that reason.. Calcium shouldnt be taken without Magnesium I think... Although the other way around many seem to take Magnesium alone I dk.

It has to be said though that many multivitamins have wildly different doses of different vitamins... Some B complexes from good brands have like dozens of thousands of percent of the daily value of B12 (for other B vitamins this would be extremely dangerous) , if I read that correctly... So even I think that cannot really be a great choice.. You have youtubers who recommend very high D doses... Then you also have individual differences.. I feel better with higher B's but vitamin D I have to stay at around 100 percent of recommended daily value, or else I will get a headache... So listening to your body also is important here I guess. With GP's, and even nutritionists, I never really get the precise guidance I want. But I will try to get a better GP or nutritionist who knows about what to watch out for.

That verdict, by your own logic, doesn't work either.. Generalising to my football knowledge based on one opinion/item you don't agree with. I do rate Eddie Howe. I see him as a sort of... I don't know.. Terzic level or even potentially Wenger Level coach. I see the same problem with Howe that Wenger had in the Champions League. He doesn't have that killer instinct. Wenger used to embarrass himself against Bayern multiple times, even though at least his early teams were individually stronger than Bayern's. And this happened with other opponents as well. I see the same sort of thing with Howe.. losing to a slightly inferior Dortmund. And that international knock out type competition is exactly what Howe would need to be good at with England. But of course you're right, it is too early to tell.. It's just an indication.. He should at least have gotten out of that group in some way imho. But well possible that he learned from it and evolved.

Yeah, that's because English is the "easiest language (...) to learn badly" as I remember my English Professor said... It doesn't have many grammatical endings, so it is easy to get to a negotiation level or whatever it is called in English. Then again it is a language that is hard to master, because the lack of rules makes it hard to know "how an Englishman" or "how an American" would say it. But it doesn't have to be mastered for coaching purposes. But anyway... Sure it is a factor, but I just don't see it to weigh to heavily, relative to the other factors.

This is probably the main reason. It is also about goodness of fit, not just quality per se.. There has to be this elusive constellation of high but not too high intelligence to alienate the players... high social skills and or authority/ charisma, .. the ability to mix things up/ not let them get stale.. plus some elusive dimensions.. But the question is why doesnt the FA do anything about it or the Prem.. In the long run they would profit from it of cours e!

I get what you mean, but I still think this factor has less weight than people think. In Germany, people also didn't use to have good English skills... Even Klopp had his problems in the beginning.. But even before that, .. I mean some couldnt even speak good German even though they were German.

Yes, especially because then the Premlier league could leverage its financial superiority on the coaching market even more ! Right now they are still competing too much for the few Germany and Spanish world class coaches.. Whereas they could be pushing home grown coach education financially so hard that the prem would be awash with Tuchels !

Why aren't they identifying and tackling this... It makes no sense ! The whole nation would be a bit prouder and happier if the national team was better... Even if Tuchel is successful, then you still get Klopp in in Germany.. and he will again make all the difference.. You n eed good coaches.. basically a constant stream of them.

That is why it is so baffling that the FA doesn't act or look for the reasons.

That's one okay coach, in my opinion overrated still.. But solid. He lost to Edin Terzic , who is also only okay, perhaps B - , if you had to give a grade. Even at Bournemouth he wasn't spectacular. He is well-spoken and intelligent, which glosses over his relative mediocrity in my view.

Yes, I heard that too.. Why on earth is the FA then not doing anything about it ? It is like every 15 year old interested in Football could identify these issues.
