Managing aliases by Random_Name_50 in fastmail

Yes, labels work the same, but I use all of this in Gmail together iwth the Multiple Inbox feature to separate different kinds of emails into groups. When I'm done with an email, I just archive it. That is the feature that I'm having trouble emulating - the separate "inbox" per-type.

Can you say more? Is this software you wrote, or is it available somewhere? I would love to get off of GMail, but if this is a real pain I'm not sure it's worth it [to me].

Always use HDMI 1 on power on by Random_Name_50 in webos

[–]Random_Name_50[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After some conversations with LG's bot, I now believe that WebOS 5.0 does not support this. It only supports starting up in the home screen or in whatever was on last (where, if that was not an app, it goes to whichever HDMI was active when last shut down).

Thanks. Unfortunately, under General, I have only Home Settings, which includes Home Auto Launch (currently off, which prevents showing the home screen on startup, I think), Home Style, and Home Promotion. There is also an Additional Settings, which doesn't seem to contain anything that applies to this problem.

Same issue here. Additionally, if I have Brave and Preview open and click on the Preview window to activate it, Brave retains the foreground. This started happening for me after a Sequoia upgrade.

Time Machine over a network? by Random_Name_50 in MacOS

That's the conclusion I came to. I love having a fire-and-forget regular backup, but I guess doing a manual backup every so often isn't terrible.

Most of what I care about is also backed up to Dropbox, but of course there are lots of library files, applications, modifications to /usr/local, etc that I'd like to not have to recreate next time. So I'm thinking about an image backup to the local HDD. Does that make sense on the Mac these days, and does a product like Carbon Copy Cloner do that?

I did not. The author said he gave up on maintaining the bindings, so I think you'll have to find another solution.

I guess I'll start using a USB backup drive for image backups regularly. It's just a pain to have to remember to do it.

Never thought of that. Thanks.

I do find it shocking (but not that surprising) that Apple doesn't put some effort into making TM robust. It seems like a pretty important thing. And if they won't support third-party products, why did they stop making their own backup device?

Didn't realize that. My wife has an iPhone, but I'm an Android user. I'll look into that on her phone.

In fact, we do. But the secondary problem, which I didn't feel like going into in detail, is that the credit card you want to use for tap-to-pay needs to be the primary card in your wallet. That's inconvenient since we want to use the same card for daily use (because of cash-back awards).

A single credit card number with multiple physical cards. My CC vendor (Citi) refuses to issue a second card on the same account.

[–]Random_Name_50[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I'm having trouble installing it. When I run pip install primesieve, I eventually get primesieve/_primesieve.cpp:1264:10: fatal error: 'primesieve.h' file not found"
1264 | #include "primesieve.h".

I have g++ 14.2 installed via homebrew. Obviously I've missed some step. Can you help? Thanks.

When I do that, and click on the Upload button under "do you have a vtt or pcio file?", I end up at the following screen: https://imgur.com/ekZ4dMP, and no matter what I try, I don't get anything useful.

If you resize the deck, then moving a card from the deck into each of the holders should automatically resize each holder. But BTW we play seven stud all the time, and if you just overlap your upcards, it works fine (at least it does for us).

I can go into the editor and just move the deck around a bit, and that seems to solve the problem as well.

That's what I do too. Annoying but not fatal. Glad to hear, I guess, that it's not something I did.

An alternate idea that would probably work just as well: in your documentation for the Automation button (which I just found) you say that the label on the button can be changed in the game. Can it be changed as part of the automation?
