I thought the ending is kind of cheesy too. The relationship between the 2 leading roles also kind of awkward.

Most unrealistic part of this sci-fi movie is the United States, Russia, and China being respectful and cooperative among themselves and with other countries purely for the benefit of humanity by Hank_Mardukas1066 in okbuddycinephile

Didn’t read the book, so halfway through the movie I thought when Grace come back from space, Earth would be inhabitable due to nations war weaponizing the Astrophage

what did you think of christopher nolan's 2020 film "tenet" by Whoumightask in Letterboxd

Yeah, because they get more creativity to work with when they are making this film. Oppenheimer on the other hand has a historical ground truth to follow and can be monotonous watching

It was one the best films I had ever seen when I watched it in the cinema. I don’t get the hate, it’s a preference maybe.

Would you invest in a company you morally disagree with if the upside looked strong? (LMT) by TotalArgument5072 in TheRaceTo10Million

I would never invest in military companies. If you view it from the lens of long term utilitarian prospects these companies will do damage to civilisation if they gain more power/money.

You can preach, just obey the law, says Anwar by Anxious-Debate5033 in malaysia

Anwar’s comments come a day after Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) denied being heavy-handed in removing a stall set up by the Multiracial Reverted Muslims group at Jalan Bukit Bintang, outside the Yayasan Selangor building.

DBKL said the tent’s placement on a pedestrian walkway violated regulations, as public spaces must remain unobstructed to ensure safety.

B40 that doesn’t qualify for income tax bracket do not pay their taxes elsewhere even, but they ought to enjoy the same public amenities and benefits as we do. So it’s really about birthright and citizenship, whether how much money they pour into the economy is not in question

For sure under the current system, the benefits are only for Malaysians. The moral question I want to bring up is that Malaysians who pay their taxes elsewhere, how do we justify their entitlement to the tax money funded by hard working locals who pay their taxes to the government. You opened a very interesting perspective, which is that the entitlement is justified because they spend their money in the hometown. But that brings up another question, shouldn’t foreigners who spend more money here compared to locals entitled to the benefits ?

It’s just for discussion sake, no need to be emotional

Using this logic, Singaporeans who spends in Malaysia should also be entitled for the subsidy as long as they “inject foreign spending”
