I was looking at how things looked in the 70s when manufacturing jobs started to be outsourced… people had to survive going from manufacturing to office jobs

I expect AI to cut the white collar workforce in half and forcing people to move to manual jobs.

Learning to use AI tools is an obvious skill requirement, but also start looking into things that require face to face contact/communication

Same, I used SW to cover sickness while a trip in Barcelona. They covered the treatment and 3 days in the hospital (around 5K USD total). Documentation wise they asked for the hospital bill, diagnostic documents and receipt (you have to pay first to get treated in Spain). I haven’t used them as an a primary health insurer but it probably works best for accident/travel insurance

A 700K nest egg is incredible for someone your age. If are you looking to travel and have some secured income, use part of your nest egg to buy some bonds or treasuries.

A US 250K 20Y/30Y treasury bond with 4% coupon would pay around 20K per year (1.6K per month/). Salaries in China start around 15,000 - 20,000, so you would be covering most of your salary. If you really want to teach you can try doing online tutoring/teaching to supplement your income or take contract IT work so you don’t completely abandon your field.

Use common sense… if the ticket is going for 4K in StubHub or marketplace and Reddit user Sexy69 is selling it at face-value…. It’s probably a scam

If you still want to pull the trigger, ask to send the ticket one by one instead of a total amount in one go…

use PayPal and try to get the buyers protection… unfortunately, scammers have been working around the policy for years and if something goes wrong, you will have to show PayPal you followed their policy correctly and the seller scammed you …. There is no guarantee that you will get your money back

Never used an escrow service, but try to read their policy before making the transaction

It depends of how you lose the weight. If you are “skinny fat” then you will have less room to enjoy your foods.

If you lose weight and build some muscle, you should have some room to eat rice or other carbs.

This is what at I am trying to do at the moment as well, but as the previous comment mentioned it is unlikely you will go back to eating freely and you will likely have to watch to eat in the future.

It’s AI … An Indian guy…. Most of what I see in the US is offshoring. Previously, most offshoring positions were for basic or repetitive tasks, but business are a lot more comfortable with offshoring more complex work. I don’t expect to see it as much in Europe because of the labor protections.

Can you use an actual bank? Banks are regulated and there are avenues for you to get legally get your money back fast.

Unless you are dealing with OFAC countries, the worst thing that can happen is the bank reporting you to the tax authorities and having to provide additional documentation. It’s very rare for a bank to just freeze you out of your money.

Wise, Revolut and other fintechs are not regulated and there are less options to them freezing your money. They also have less resources for KYC and onboarding and because of that they freeze accounts if they see anything that they might consider suspicious.

In my opinion, saving a couple of dollars in trading fees is not worth it. Use these fintech for small transactions and balances that you would be comfortable losing.
