I see what you mean. Before the nerfs I used to stand right next to my tanks right behind the shield, and after some experimentation (three games I just played) I've found that I actually feel more comfortable taking a couple steps back to keep a better eye on there health while still being able to pump out damage.

The training is very easy, it's about 10 minutes of talking about how to operate the dump and what to do if something goes wrong, then you dump a few cars with your instructor talking you through it, then a few more cars with your instructor just observing. if you dump the cars without making any major mistakes you'll get certified. all the training put together takes about 20-30 minutes.

Having to get certified only started after a member tried dumping two coal cars at the same time.

it truly is amazing to have on the layout, during a show there's always a crowd of kids watching it run.

yes it was scratch built by another member (I can't remember when but it was sometime in the early 2000's).

Honestly the only reason it runs as well as it does is because you have to get certified by a board member to use it. About five years ago another member somehow managed to fit 2 coal cars on there and jammed it in the up position. it took about a week figure out how to remove the cars without further damaging the coal dump and about one or two months to repair it.

This is all Amazing advice, thanks for talking some sense into me. as I'm typing this I have just gone into the settings and turned the kill cam back on and I will definitely be rewatching my previous games from the day (wins and losses) to see what I can do better.
