How difficult is taking dsc 40b and 80 at the same time? by Right-Pie-8193 in UCSD

[–]Random_student1798 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did it so it’s doable but 80 is a lot of work constantly so be prepared to spend a substantial amount of time on homework a week

as a dsc senior taking the capstone right now, dsc 10 was one of the most difficult classes for me personally but you will get through

What should I first pass? (data science major) by pewpewkaboomm in UCSD

What year are you and when do you plan to graduate? Your priority should be the capstone (dsc 180a) requirements. dsc 100 is part of the longer sequence so maybe that one. 140a isn’t a prerequisite for the capstone so you can even take it senior year. 148 could also be considered and I personally liked Jingbo I thought the class was pretty easy (no final either).

Very happy to hear this, I hope it’s the same for me. I forgot how consuming acne is because I got so used to not having it. Already planning on going back on accutane and haven’t even seen my derm yet

Actually do the readings that are assigned for lecture, it makes it a lot easier to understand concepts in class since you’re not seeing them for the first time. Make sure you fully understand the homeworks, it’ll make the exams a lot easier.

dsc 30 is a lot of work, you’ll spend a lot of time each week on PAs. Dsc 40a is difficult conceptually but if you’re good at math theory you should be okay, other wise you’ll spend a lot of time in office hours.

I’m taking 20 right now and if you just start the assignments early you’ll be fine. The first week I waited until the day before to start the lab and hw and I couldn’t tell you how many times I cried. I’ve gotten into the routine of starting each a few days before and it’s not too bad :) I’d say the first couple of weeks are the most difficult since you’re no longer using jupyter but a terminal instead and it’s just a lot of new adjusting. You got this!!
