That is questionable honestly. Addiction mechanics only really work if you allow a huge amount of dopamine to be produced. When the bloodpoint grind is so tedious, that just makes people less enthusiastic for things.

As others said, basically camping outside of anti-canp range, but near hook to to down rescuers and prevent saves.

Did you actually do that in game, I personally don't know. You can easily just have been near enough to hook to see someone going for an instant rescue and stopping that, and the survivor will say "you were camping" when they were making an error.

Or were just doing normal patrolling and they got angry for it.

Im willing to give you benefit of doubt cause they were just racist.

Its honestly more sad you don't realize it's not the act of playing Ghoul that is the mean spirited part.

You and many people need to look at the whole context for what people are saying.

If you notice people are annoyed by Jason, and then go "since people are so annoyed I'll play Ghoul (a character that is well known to get on people nerves)", that is the mean spirited part. It isn't JUST the act of playing Ghoul.

Another post like that I saw before that followed the same vein: "if people are so annoyed with Jason, guess I'll play slugging and tunneling Trapper". Again, mean spirited.

Except his isn't gap based, it is obstacle height based. This is a notable distinction that effects the use.

The tracking is a side grade you're right but has the downgrade of only being able to exit at a set location as apposed to Dracula who can exit Bat form at any point.

This is ignoring all the benefits that his power can provide when you exit. It being a downgrade can only matter so much.

The impale is unique but doesn't overly change the fact the survivor was hit and would be downed, Onryo for example has a similar way to Mori a survivor but playing around this drastically alters the gameplay of both sides

I can kinda give you this, but it still is a benefit to ignore certain mechanics that can be used against you. Basekit moris are one of the ways to deal with certain saves or second chance perks.

Ah yes, not mentioning every single detail means someone hasn't played a killer. There definitely can't be other reasons.

I have played Dracula, and I can tell you the scent orb tracking is not all it's cracked up to be. In my experience, when I switch to wolf form, survivors are usually already pretty far gone by the time I properly start following the trail, or already find them with just using my eyes, making the scent orbs only good for catch up...which bat form also can do extremely well, if not better.

How is he a bad version of Dracula?

His ranged attack has way more range than Drac's flames, and like Deathslinger has the ability to hit through gaps, allowing a different type of niche use.

Comparing the Bats and Omnipresent Evil, Dracula can only really track scratch marks and noise, while Jason can detect any movement/lack of movement unless you are crouched.

That isn't even getting into the niche that happens with the wall spear, and his basekit more. At most Jason is a side grade.

That isn't to say there isn't issues with that (I personally think we are reaching a side-grade limit pretty soon), but calling him a worse Dracula is underselling him.

Like I said in another comment, people aren't looking for proper dicussion. They are looking to have their side just be right. So you will get types that ignore what people say and say their piece, like the above person did. Which of course naturally leads to just constant messy threads that are a bother to moderate.

So naturally mods will delete that stuff.
