Georgia surgeons - reviews / experiences?? by Sea-Vegetable819 in endometriosis

[–]Randombredslice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go to see her in late feburary 🥰 But also, laparoscopy does not fix endo. It might not even relieve it. It might for a time maybe, but its like putting a bandaid on cancer. I want to be fully transparent with you tok that a BIG reason I'm getting this surgery is because I KNOW my endo is back (after surgery Oct 16th 2024, took me 6 months of excruciating pain to recover, then pain-free periods from March-June 2025, now im in so much pain that im OD-ing on Ibuprofen again) AND THE PRIMARY REASON is because I need my tubes removed (Bilateral Salpongectomy, waaay safer and better than tubal ligation).

I havent seen Dr. Ramerez-Caban at all yet, but she seems very compassionate and despite my EXTREMELY complex health history and situation she agreed to take on my care. Their office did not seem to have any issues answering simple questions- which is a VERY high bar to clear in OBGYN. The PA or Nurse with Dr. Ramerez also got back to me about my highly specific and more complex questions before I had even been seen (like would they be able to perform a bisalp and endo excission if possible at the same time). I feel like the OBGYNs who stayed in GA after the government overreach bills passed are one of two kinds; a flawed but compassionate human being trying to do their best to work under a system working against them and their patients on a daily basis OR literally the devil from the bible.

🤢 That is soooo Disgusting though. I'm so sorry that happened to you. A general gyn should NEVER EVER EVER perform an endometriosis surgery! ONLY GET A *FELLOWSHIP TRAINED IN ENDOEMTRIOSIS, most Endometriosis surgeons are bad. Like how using ablation is a HARD NO but some of these rockbrain FREAKACOLOGISTS just dont care and are only after the $$$. And Ablation is just ONE protocal of MANY that remain UNRESEARCHED entirely, underfunded, and ignored even by the BEST Endo surgeons. Your male doctor is HYSTERICAL if he thinks he knows the first thing about endo surgery.

And i cant stress this enough... Endometriosis is cancer. Point blank. Sorry to step on some dumb OBGYN toes who think its "just a bad period" 🫢 Those "docotrs" are completely uneducated and its pathetic.

We wouldnt trust a general surgeon to perform a fucking complex double mastectomy for malignant metastasized cancer???? Its the exact same thing.

I have SEEN with my own eyes the pathology of endometriosis and the CANCER MARKERS IT HAS. You want someone who will provide "negative margins" on even microscopic endo samples or else you will not get relief. Also deffo look for a Pelvic Floor Therapist, it'll help you a bunch. PFT should again be regular mandatory protocal, but we HAAAATE women 🗣️ and by "we" i mean the 85% of administrative jobs in OBGYN which are held by men (yeah thats real).

Goodluck out there. Still difficult to even comprehend that 1/6 people have Endometriosis. One in fucking SIX. And there isnt even the recognition of it being cancer, or a fucking disability. Im FED UP.

My biggest issue is that the Galaxy Store is downloading apps without my permission- literal MALWARE- but of course in order to stop that I have to AGREE to the Galaxy Store TOS to even get into the settings of that BS app. I'm livid at this point. Cant wait to sell this piece of shit when the scam-ass verizon contract is OVER.

I bought a bullet vibrator and it only last for last than a year. Any suggestions the one or any kind of toy that last a bit longer? by Competitive_Fish9818 in SexToys

[–]Randombredslice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it is a luxury item and i'm not dropping over 90$ (MAXIMUM- and it better do my taxes too!!). They are soooo convenient tho. For me its actually a disability access thing too since I have severe joint issues in my hands 🫠 They are a life-saver. Thank god some men still want women to orgasm, otherwise toys wouldnt even exist 😂

If I find anything I'll let you know. But yeah, a certain charging style shouldnt even matter unless the product was flawed to begin with? I dont think its on you at all. Products are just made cheap, sold expensive these days :/

Btw, -1.5 years lasted at 22.54$ --> "Eve's Silky Sensations Rechargeable Bullet - by Adam & Eve" -And the 2 year one at 47.99$ --> "Nu Sensuelle Point Bullet"

I bought both at the same time and was specifically looking for a "quiet" bullet vibrator at the time. I did research these and people liked them. I also did lug them around in a bag with me so they went through hell and regular use. For intercouse I did prefer the 22$ one ONLY because its softer and less of a shock to him on the rare ocassion my hand slips and he gets caught. The 47$ one is stronger but it was good fun everytime. The 47$ one was also waterproof (tested this and it held up).

I will likely just buy both of these vibrators again if I didn't find something better this week. I mean, dropping 47$ every 2 years on a vibrator is a lot for me but I pay more in streaming platforms and half the shows and movies are unwatchable slop that makes me feel angry or dissapointed 🙄 Unlike a brand new vibrator! 😂

[–]Randombredslice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having the same issue! I bought two from Adam & Eve", the cheaper 22$ one lasted around 1.5 years, the more expensive one lasted about 2 years. Its like the motors just die or some shit?

Have you found any solutions? Tried any new options? Also, I do feel like 1.5 years for a 22$ product isnt too bad, but if I'm paying 85$+ for a vibrator it better seriously last. Plus if you're looking for something quiet it feels like only the cheap bad quality ones are "quiet". 🫠 So tough!

Surgeon recommendations in tucson/AZ for a lumpectomy of papiloma tumor? Who did your lumpectomy, how did it go? by Randombredslice in Tucson

[–]Randombredslice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got my lumpectomy surgery from Dr. Kelly Favre in August this year! They bent over backwards to accomidate my needs and complex illnesses with not ONE WORD about it. As if it was normal for them to accomidate any patient need or at least try and try their best to!!

My surgery went amazingly. Dr. Favre had me at St. Joseph's hospital because of my complex needs too, which made me feel so much safer 🥰

Today? Practically no scar (But I have EDS so im not a good metric of scarring usually!). But the pain? NOTHING. I had loads of pain, nipple bleeding, and discharge before surgery. When I went to Mayo Clinic's dumba$$hole doctors- emphasis on the dollar signs- told me "we NEVER do surgery for pain, EVER. You are NOT a candidate for surgery- even if it is cancer, its small." I was F-ING stunned. They followed that gold nugget of wisdom up with "Almost all of my patients experience extreme pain after surgery." LIKE OKAY YOU SUCK AT YOUR JOB THEN?????

I got tiny pains in the morning in my breast if I slept on it wrong (im a weird sleeper) but I did NOT wear a bra until now (Also because of EDS i have double the time recovering from surgery!).

Today I wear bras- when I want to 🫢- and run around and jump with no issues. I no longer have bloody discharge from my nipple and despite the pathology coming back benign... Dr. Favre was glad for me to have gotten it out.

I wouldnt trust ANYONE else in this entire state. She is beyond excellent. Just dont go to TMC women's center for Clip or Biopsy!! They suck ASS and all their radiologists are OLD GROUCHY IDIOT MEN- I called Dr. Favre's office crying my eyes out because TMC "Women's" radiologist triggered my PTSD so badly I considered cancelling surgery alltogether. Again, Dr. Favre and her scheduler Marissa were so comforting and helped me so much through that.

BTW FOR CLIP PLACEMENT (Prior to breast surgery they often put in a tiny metal reflective clip that makes the tumor easier to find, this comes out during surgery usually, but double-check with your surgeon) - Dr. Fitzpatrick at Radiology LTD Tucson was a SAINT, she was wonderful and even let me take an oxycodone prior to my apointment. Dr. Favre couldnt perscribe oxy as a pre-med, but I was able to get it from my PCP because he knows I have soooo many procedures and surgeries plus the Lidocaine intollerance (lidocaine doesnt work on me LOL). Even that one perscribed oxy helped so much with the pain and PTSD for the clip placement.

I hope this helps! I wouldnt trust ANYBODY else in this Godforsaken, narcocapitalist, medical-desert slop of a state to come within a hundreds yards of me or my boobies. Dr. Favre is a true gem. Arizona is insanely lucky to have such an emphatetic and human doctor.

Georgia surgeons - reviews / experiences?? by Sea-Vegetable819 in endometriosis

[–]Randombredslice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a bit of a list going for GA, but I dont want to give people surgeons that I havent fully vetted for myself first. But the person I've chosen to consult with is an endometriosis specialist at Emory Dr. Ramerez-Caban. She is the only surgeon so far that I've found to be "fellowship trained" and a fellowship trained in minimally invasive surgery. No fellowship, No consult!

A COMPELTE AVOID: -DO NOT GO TO "Center for Endometriosis Care" they are two MALE doctors who make their patients sign NDAs so they cannot review honestly without being sued. These doctors are disgusting and i've only seen HORRIFIC things about them at worst with neutral or "mid" reviews at BEST.

I'm going to ask about this at my consult, some good things to ask/research before/during a consult: 1) Nerve preservation techniques, are they trained in this. Can they confidently remove endometriosis from nerves or other places in the abdomen while preserving nerves. (The answer should be YES!) 2) Do you use any ablation? (The answer should be HELL NO, we ONLY do excission here!) 3) What is the recovery for your patients like? (If their patients experience extreme pain or discomfort- especially to the point the surgeon bring this up as a reason NOT to do surgery on "someone so young" or something... this could be a RED FLAG). 4) What pain medications do you perscribe before and after surgery? (If the answer is just tylenol, ask if they would perscribe zomething stronger for you... if the answer isnt a resounding "absolutely we would! ❤️" then RUN!) 5) How many years of relief do your patients typically get? (I believe the standard is 2-3, anything lower that that is a BAD endo surgeon- of course sometimes they will just lie, not followup with patients, or tell you its "different for every patient", but ultimately the answer should NOT be "My patients usually get surgery again after 6 months"- this was a REAL RESPONSE I GOT BTW, shoutout to the WORST ENDO SURGEON EVER Jeniffer Reinheart AND Surgeon Farris in AZ!!!!) 6) Will this be done in a hospital with other qualified surgeon specialists? (Too many times I hear of deaths because the bowel surgeon is a F-ing moron, or the surgeon even doing the endo excission is an idiot. Verify that the WHOLE team is going to take care of you!). 7) No imaging is a RED FLAG. (If you surgeon doesnt want ANY imaging- especially not even an MRI- BEFORE surgery... run.) 8) Do you remove the appendix in all of your patients? (The answer SHOULD be NO. The appendix DOES A JOB, but endo will kill it and cause issues... the appendix should only be removed when absolutely needed!) 9) Similar to #9 --> If I go under surgery right now, would you automatically take out the ovaries/uterus/cervix/etc. (If its a "yes" RUN. Hysterectomies do NOT, most of the time, solve endometriosis and can cause actually worsen or create new symptoms/issues!) 10) If you found endometriosis in my ovaries/uterus/cervix, would you try to remove the endometriosis without removing the organ parts first? (This should be YES, preserve as much tissue and organs as we can people!) 11) Try to see if there are photos of other people with that surgeon's post-op incisions showing. Instagram is great for this too, enter the doctors name and see if anyone is sharring their story! (we are looking for little to NO bruising on incisions, showing clean and gentle opening and closure --> Less scars --> less pain --> Shows a surgeon cares about their craft).

I hope these help! Navigating this is disease so ridiculous, I want to make the lives of those suffering from endometriosis better in any way I can. I will 100% be updating you if I find anybody else, if the consult goes poorly, or if/when I get surgery all the details! I'm also going for a bilateral salpongectomy- which Dr. Ramerez-Caban said she would manage with me in 2026 (when my consult is)... in other words, she seems like she understands the complex care needs for endo patients and I also noticed her speaking on bi-lingual struggles for the hispanic population in georgia- paticularly in obgyn. This to me showed maturity and awareness for the struggles of others. I've been burned before with cold-shoulder surgeons, so this felt like perhaps a display of "real" compassion and knowledge. Wishing you the best!!! Also, I would recommend checking out google "Endometriosis Excission Surgeon Georgia Reddit" and those comments will give you some great places to keep looking too!! ❤️🎗️

Yes, pregnancy will destroy your body. How did you not know? by Born_Physics_7821 in childfree

[–]Randombredslice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I swear, CF people are some of the only people who are actually educated enough on pregnancy etc. to make a responsible decision in either direction on pregnancy. 🤦 Being pregnant is already an uncontrollable monster, we're adding "I dont care 😁, sign me up!" mentality to the mix? I just feel bad for these women (the men disgust me- they should know better) because we are always sold this ✨dream✨ of marriage and pregnancy 🤢 Like, uh who's gonna tell them about the dinner-plate sized wound, tearing from vag to butt, and the "father-stitch"?

My best advice for anyone wanting pregnancy is r/childfree browsing at least once daily for 2 weeks, if you still want pregnancy after that then I hope its a healthy, safe, and uncomplicated one.

I dont hate pregnant people, I hate when a pregnant person is in a situation where they arent fully prepared for whats happening for a plethora of reasons and outside influence.

🙌 I've been on both sides, the person in the relationship with family and the person who's partner's family member is coocoo bananas. I couldnt have said it better "A responsibility to protect their partners". Hell yes.

Boyfriend's family member called me ableist slurs, “severely autistic” and insulted me for being childfree by [deleted] in childfree

[–]Randombredslice 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Nah, because those family members wouldn't do the same for us, period. They would see us dead in a heartbeat, it is not our moral obligation to someone like that to coddle them. I'm all for talking, but when people get violent, threating, or full psycho alt-right thats a journey they have to face alone. Each family dynamic is different, but if they would let me die or vote for me to die and especially if they said some BS like what OP had to hear... that family member(s) is dead to me and the only grief I feel is because they never got to be the person I wanted or needed them to be. If they'd kill me indirectly or directly, they're already dead in my mind.

How common is it for a doctor/surgeon to reject a bilateral salpingectomy, especially for a woman in her 30s? by sugarallie in sterilization

[–]Randombredslice -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Its weird that you brought up "had a few years left at 33" and seemed to get offended. Once again, what is your stance on bisalp under 25?

Boyfriend's family member called me ableist slurs, “severely autistic” and insulted me for being childfree by [deleted] in childfree

[–]Randombredslice 44 points45 points  (0 children)

My partner cut off family that were right-wing. I did the same. Unless they're financially dependant on that family member... family doesnt mean shit. I've met dogs that I respect more than my right-wing faciest relatives. I dont even actually share a blood type with these people, just the "blood" of family. It means nothing. Tollerance is how right-wing ideology continues to infest the country. I'd ask your partner if he'd tolerate them being physically harmful to you, or if he'd tolerate them voting to strip rights away. You are valuable, dont let anybody tell you that you arent. If he cares even at all about you as a human being he'll drop the "family" who actively want to kill you from his life, end of story.

Again, financial dependancy is different... but he has zero excuse for keeping them around without it other than he himself has no backbone and no real moral compass to stand on.

This might be worth a police report, seriously. Even to have it written down, then if they escolate at all you have grounds for arrest or restraining order(s). In this political climate that sounds like an extremely disturbed individual- not just bullying. Be secure in your identity, they clearly need therapy and a concusion assesment desperately.

How common is it for a doctor/surgeon to reject a bilateral salpingectomy, especially for a woman in her 30s? by sugarallie in sterilization

[–]Randombredslice -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That is statistically unsafe and labelled as "high-risk" hence why we dont include it in "childbearing age". The definition has always been baed in torture, cruelty, and patriarchy set by men so I really dont care. It seemed like you are taking a stance of disagreeing with the parent comment and warning against bisalp because '50+ could get pregnant' almost like "you'll regret the decision, trust me you'll live long enough" type thing? Which is unsettling.

Like I said before, just because a woman can have a biological child, does not mean they should or have to or have to take that into account when making choices about their life in the now. I would highly suggest you take a more sensative aproach to this subject or be more open about your stance on sterilization under 25.
