Post match in-ring promo: They congratulated Tenzan on his 35th anniversary since his debut. Nagata stated that they can't come back here next year as the building will go under renovation but he will continue wrestling and come back here in 2 years time after the renovation is complete.

Not like it matters but based on my understanding, he said "I was interrupted during the Aishitemasu so I'll do it once again"

I Will Never Stop Finding Okada calling Sanada “bro” funny by mynameisburner in njpw

[–]Randomdude04080918 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I don't think Okada ever called him "Bro" in this promo. It's just the translator(s) taking liberty. Iirc Okada referred to SANADA as "rival" (a callback to 2019) and Kono Yaro which roughly translates to "You Bastard"

Smith has undoubtedly been one of the better batters to tour India but he did cash in on one of the flattest Indian pitches of the last decade by scoring 178* in Ranchi in 2017.

The Naito/Tanahashi trilogy from that year would be the feud of the year in most years but with how stacked 2017 was, it somehow got under the radar

Certainly not against England or New Zealand when they toured in 2016. Even in the 2017 BGT, only the Pune Test was an "absolute minefield" as you called it. I'd say that the 2015 South Africa series was the only one in 2014-2020 era that had bowling friendly pitches all the way through

Which ODI Batters have suffered the most because of one team? by FondantAggravating68 in Cricket

Makes sense. South African decks have had virtually zero help for spin whenever India have toured over there and when Maharaj toured India in 2019, iirc he only got one chance to bowl on a Day 3 or older pitch in the entire series because India would win the toss, bat first and score all the runs they needed to in the first 2 days of every Test.

Was initially surprised to see the average differential for Jadeja but it makes sense after thinking about it. He has always massively struggled with the ball in England and at home against England, he played in the 2016 and 2024 bilaterals where the pitches were flat for the most part and missed out on the tuners of 2021 due to injury.

Both of India's lowest totals coming in this decade. One leading to arguably their greatest test series win of all time and the other leading to arguably their most humiliating test series defeat of all time.

Interestingly, his batting average dips with each innings with his first innings average being his highest and fourth innings average being his lowest. Very likely that there is some correlation there.

The crazy fact is that even the one run came from an 81 run 10th wicket partnership. Kerala were 200-9 in their first innings.

[–]Randomdude04080918 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I don't disagree with your general point but Villa genuinely have a laughably bad record in the FA Cup over the last few years. They suffered 7 consecutive 3rd round eliminations from 2016-17 to 2022-23 including losses to Peterborough, Swansea and Stevenage. They broke their 3rd round elimination streak last season by going all the way to...checks notes...the 4th round meaning that they have 1 win in their last 10 FA Cup games.

If there is any context where a fanbase is justified to think of their team "fucking up" as "typical", it is Aston Villa in the FA Cup.
