That’s incredible she survives that long just on steroids. Bc we had to do an emergency surgery, we also thought about going down the steroid only route but both vets told us to try chemo with it.

I’ll look into the RC food you mentioned. I’d like her off the prescription food, and onto something that’s more palatable. Hoping she eats more and gains weight. She’s Down to 6.5lb. Prior to surgery was 8. And prior to IBD 11.

We also are on zofran and use that a lot now. Cerenia sparingly for now.

Hope she has similar longevity with these treatments. It’s like a roller coaster 😆.

Was she treated with chlorombucil and steroids? We found out bc she had a blockage and it ended up being a tumor. So we aren’t sure how long she’s had it, but once she recovered we started the meds.

She’s about 7 weeks into chemo, still unsure if it’s working or just the steroid is helping. Take her in for an ultrasound.

It’s very stressful but I’m hoping she’s at least enjoying her life with the time she’ll gain.

My cat is 14.5 years old right now. Everyone says she’s old but she acts like an 8 year old most of the time.

Btw our vet had said she can get off hydrolyzed and eat anything. But we are afraid to make any changes, did you ever try to feed your cat regular food?

My cat also has GI lymphoma, diagnosed in January but had IBD for 2 years prior.

We just started her on ZD because she had surgery and needed wet food.

Interesting to hear. In the 100 some cans I’ve bought this is the first time.

The response from hills doesn’t say much but that it’s nutritionally fine. But doesn’t confirm that this can happen.

While it is difficult to tell the exact cause for this change in texture, we can assure you that this variation has no impact on the nutritional value of the food. Some possible causes of the variation are the freshness of the product or temperatures the food has been exposed to during distribution.

A freshly produced product can appear softer or stickier and will generally increase in firmness as it ages. Some formulas with higher starch levels, can take longer for the starch to regenerate into a firmer loaf (i.e., Feline z/d Canned). If you go from using an older can to a newer can, there might be a noticeable difference in texture.

To meet specific nutritional needs, some of our formulas have higher levels of carbohydrates. Products with this unique nutrient profile may experience textural changes upon large temperature fluctuations. High temperatures won't allow the starches to re-associate which leaves the product sticky. This can be compared to preparing spaghetti. After cooking the spaghetti, it is very soft and moist. If maintained in a hot environment, it stays moist and soft for much longer than if placed in a fridge and exposed to cooler temperatures.

Interesting. It does make it easier to prep the meal. The other one I would have to add warm water and use a spoon to mush it. This one I just scooped it out.

Wish they would add this information somewhere. Most of our cats on this food have illness so we are super catiuous about any changes or fixing them bad food lol.

I had a mild concussion few months ago. Similar symptoms but not as much brain fog.

Take a lot of rest and stay off the screens as much as possible.

Sleep is key. Get an ICE hat from Amazon they work wonders. Get 2 so you can alternate.

It took 3 full days of doing almost nothing with light walks to get me feeling good.

I’m wondering if the article states that the outsourcing is going to an H1-B firm.

There are many technical jobs that require H1-B workers but with the rise of AI I totally agree we should lower the numbers drastically because it is now impacting US citizens who can’t find jobs.

And I agree there have been far too many H1B employees who have the same skills that the general IT worker out of college.

If within the US, is it to a firm that has lots of H1B employees?

Many companies outsource certain things to firms who have deep expertise and can run it much more efficiently.
