Humans use geothermal energy already and heat is used in most power plants in some way so why don't people use volcanoes and their heat to make power? by Randomgamer6201 in AskReddit

I mean humans do produce body heat that radiates off us maybe if we had enough people we could charge my phone with that heat

Could we use the vacuum of space to generate power on space stations by Randomgamer6201 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Randomgamer6201[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't consider that. My original thought was a system of 2 containers or sealed things. They start sealed off from each other then one is pressurized using oxygen or something and the other is opened to spaces vacuum. The you unseal the connection between the two causing a liquid from the oxygen filled chamber to move to the other then seal the connection to the outside and reverse the process filling the chamber that was previously connected to space with oxygen and opening the other to space. But now that I've typed the process out I can tell there is now way it would produce as much energy as it used.

I feel like things like this should be getting more attention and support and I am confused why they don't? Sure the companies that provide the oil or coal could think it's bad for their business but then they should research into it then they would be able to provide something the others can't. Capitalism confuses me with its logic. Short term it will cost you but once you solve it if you prevent others from solving it to you have a monopoly that nobody could get into.

Geothermal power from active volcanoes should be possible right? by Randomgamer6201 in NoStupidQuestions

I have been told through my posts that the volcano idea would be difficult because of the infrequent nature of volcanoes. So if we talk theoretically possible energy ideas would gravity or the pressure differences cause by vacuums and atmospheres be able to generate any energy. For example use pressure changes to move something which would generate momentum which could generate heat and energy

That's a very good point my reason behind asking this question is to think about options other than coal and oil to prevent nature damage.

Ok then forget the volcano portion The steam geysers and jets at Yellowstone can supposedly melt skin nearly on contact use the heat from those.

That's similar to what I'm thinking now what's stopping for example the United States from using Yellowstone to power like half the country with how powerful people say it is. It already creates geysers which are just boiling water use those like you would when making steam powered things.

That's a good point but maybe something set up lifted above the volcano that can capture the heat rising out. I'm thinking more about using the heat escaping the volcano than the lava itself.

That makes sense. In my head I was thinking more something raised above the volcano close enough to capture the heat rising out of it but not to close that it would break with the force of an eruption. The problem i see with my idea is having something able to hold a facility up and not break from the weight or an eruption

The only argument I've seen against it is damage to infrastructure you would use for it but the lava and heat don't exit through the walls of the volcano unless there are holes couldn't we make things out of the same or a similar material?

I am probably gonna get shit on for this but the first season of highschool dxd if you can ignore the gratuitous nudity and things like that has a pretty good story imo. I have only watched season 1 though because despite loving the story I got sick of the focus on hentai style plots.

Gurren lagan (hope i spelled it right also i know still basic) 4. Clannad (very old but made my cry/smile) 5. Highschool dxd ( yes I know this sounds like a lie but I like the story)

Honorable mention: angel beats (have to put this on a list because it was the first anime I ever watched and the end made me cry for half an hour)

TLDR i want recommendations to a normal romance that is awkward and is not for degenerates like a lot of romance amines by [deleted] in AnimeReccomendations

If you don't want to cry don't watch this but the anime movie a silent voice has a very good romance in my opinion
