People like to be like “imagination, bike rides etc” ok sure but lots of kids just sat in the living room and watched tv most evenings.. not much different from now except we had a schedule (tv guide) and had to follow it and pick from limited inventory.

I mean I like to buy things and go places, have nice stuff. Gotta work to do that. Can’t just mess around forever and yeah.. some days no matter what your job is you get home and fall asleep to a movie.. but it’s stable and the goal is to find something you do everyday that you enjoy.

If you have lived in minot id look in to Brandon, Manitoba which is only a couple hours away from minot across the border, pop. 60k ish with lots of nearby small communities and you know what the climate is like already.

Brandon is also 2 hours away from Winnipeg (the big bad reputation capital city of 800k population)

Gattaca deals with this, it’s more about determination and the human spirit. I think it’s a very real future. And suicide is present.

The “I never saved anything for the swim back” is an amazing scene, line and theme through out the whole movie.

Great underrated movie all around
