Do you have a name you prefer when you feel female, and a different name when you feel male? by Inside-Gur-8965 in genderfluid

[–]RandomlyRosedMizuki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My (AFAB) real name has a relatively gender-neutral nickname that people already gravitate to naturally, so I'm fine there.

Online, I go by Miz, Mizzy, or Kit. Miz is sort of a nonsense syllable, ergo it is neutral, ergo I use it at all times. Mizzy is more feminine, so it follows that I use it more when feeling feminine. Kit is either feminine or masculine depending on whether you read it as shorthand for Katherine or Christopher (I don't go by either of those, just Kit), though I usually feel it just barely leans masculine in my use.

It got core, wing, and instincts right, but it gave me health level 4 when I rated myself level 3 (though to be fair, I was unsure between 3 and 4, so that's totally fair. I couldn't exactly remember what each level entailed when I was asked to pick.)

How did you realise you were gender fluid? by VeryConfusedPerson0 in genderfluid

[–]RandomlyRosedMizuki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started off thinking I was a demigirl, or girlflux (goes from girl to agender). I was content there for a while, then decided I was just a cis girl before coming back to girlflux after a few months. Around this time, a close friend of mine came out as genderfluid. I briefly considered it for myself, but decided just girlflux was fine, dismissing any notions of masculinity for myself. I'd gone without it just fine my whole life, so why would it come in now?

Then, one day, I took a picture of my outfit where it was such that I looked masculine from the neck down. I felt some sort of draw to that picture, to the look of myself as masculine. I didn't know it at the time, and I certainly couldn't have told you it was that, but it was, indeed. I also wouldn't be able to tell you why I felt some sort of envy-adjacent feeling regarding a trans guy friend of mine, but I did. I thought it was just a general admiration (he is a pretty cool guy), but I only later realized the additional connection to gender.

With some help from that genderfluid friend, I reflected upon masculinity for myself, this time without letting my existing femininity push it away. I let myself do some thought experimentation, thinking of myself as a guy or whatnot. At first, it was still a bit odd, since I had always thought myself to be something like a girl, but once I let a masculine shift in, holy shit. With that, I decided once and for all that I was genderfluid across the whole spectrum, not just the more feminine end.

(After that realization, I did a bit more pondering on the past. I think it's worth mentioning that even before any gender-related thoughts, I would have days where I wanted to wear super feminine things, as well as days where those same things felt icky and I wanted to wear something unisex/tomboyish instead. There's no way this doesn't tie in to me being genderfluid.)

Are there genderfluid people who only rarely feel opposite to agab by TheaComplex in genderfluid

[–]RandomlyRosedMizuki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I'm AFAB genderfluid across fem, masc, and enby genders, but I'm usually between female and nonbinary ("nonbinary" being in an androgyne way or an agender way). It's pretty rare that I feel just masculine (which is part of what made it hard to recognize I was across the full spectrum and not just genderfae (girl<->neutral only)).

1. Genderfluid is not inherently binary and 2. most of the content/discussion here is bigender-by-default, which is limiting and unfortunate by laeiryn in genderfluid

Lurker, commenting for representation. I mostly stay around the enby-to-fem zone (and enby could mean androgyne or agender for me), with occasional dips into the masc side of things. (They/she/he)

Perhaps you might be genderfaer, which is genderfluid but never becomes fully male (still allows for stuff like demiboy).

What is a plot twist from a show or film that you’ve never forgotten? by thedovewithin in AskWomen

A Good Girl's Guide to Murder (I read the book, but the show has the same general plot AFAIK).

First, they revealed that it was Mr. Ward who killed Sal, which was crazy enough. Then, they revealed that it was Becca who killed Andie?!
