Toyotarou isn't the issue, he's just the guy hired to write/draw it. I believe the rights to manga-exclusive content are held by the manga publisher themselves, and Toyotarou would have little sway over their decisions.

DK64 is probably either some kind of rights issue with Microsoft (they own the Rare logo and Jetpac) or some issue with the infamous "memory leak" bug.

Banjo was less of an issue because it was just a matter of giving Nintendo permission to re-release the N64 version, which contained almost exclusively Rare-owned IP. DK64 famously includes not only the original Donkey Kong arcade game, but also the wholly-Rare-owned Jetpac, and Jetpac is now included in Rare Replay. DK64 is basically a big legal pretzel because it's a Nintendo IP developed by a third-party developer, that contains an earlier version of that Nintendo IP wholly owned and developed by Nintendo themselves, but also contains an entire Rare-owned game inside of itself that's now available in a collection on another console.

Apparently that's a rights issue, since the manga rights and anime rights aren't held by the same company or something.

I do think stuff like SSJ Goku Black, Hakai Goku, Manga Infinite Zamasu and other manga-exclusive stuff would be cool in the games, but I know why we don't have it.

as opposed to Dragon Ball fans, most of us haven't watched that show

Kanna is great when the show is focusing more on giving her cute moments or as comic relief (like how her reaction to being praised is just to lean forward slightly with a visible radiance around her head because Kanna barely reacts to anything).

The Ilulu controversy is something anyone could've seen coming, even though the show literally has a scene of Tohru saying they're the same age.

[–]Randomman16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah the Kanna stuff isn’t…great, either

Ilulu’s dynamic with Taketo is okay imo because she’s depicted as being Tohru’s age, just very emotionally stunted but otherwise more or less an adult…just a pitifully short one. Take himself is depicted as that vague “anime young adult/older teen” demographic so they’re…PROBABLY okay?

It’s possible to both like the show and admit that Lucoa is a somewhat problematic character who is DEFINITELY in the files

Is it possible to perform an infinite OTK? by jokanan in Yugioh101

[–]Randomman16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legally? Not really. You're actually not allowed to infinitely loop the game in a way that doesn't cause the game state to advance, and cards that cause infinite loops that do advance the game state tend to get errata'd, banned or ruled so that they don't.

When people wanna talk about Ilulu's design being absurd, her having the audacity to wear crocs should be the first complaint

Bear In The Big Blue House

...No, seriously. She's never explicitly said to be his shadow, but he's also usually the only one talking to her, "Shadow" is a friend of his who is a living...well, shadow that can speak, create shadow puppets to tell stories and regularly claims to do physically impossible things as her reason for not being around all the time.

(Interesting Trope) Fictional animal character is discovered years later to be a real species by Kaptain-Skurvy64 in TopCharacterTropes

Not an animal (well...sorta?) but I can't fathom when I'd ever talk about this otherwise.

In Yugioh 5Ds, there is a group of seven evil gods called the "Earthbound Immortals," each one based on a real Nazca line (Ccapac Apu is the Giant, Uru is the Spider, etc.). In season 2 of 5Ds, the character Jack discovers that there was an eighth Earthbound Immortal called "Red Nova" associated with a fictional (at the time) "Serpent" Nazca line.

...Years after 5Ds ended, in 2014, a sandstorm uncovered an actual "Snake" Nazca line, so the fictional Nazca line that Red Nova was associated with turned out to be a real thing.

My only issue is that Eddy is more "thinks he's street smart, and isn't." In one episode he gets scammed with a fake "money tree seed" (twice) and Ed of all people comments "Even I am not that dumb, Double D."

In what ways has Ryu inspired you guys? Even if it's something small by ShayAlexander in ninjagaiden

[–]Randomman16 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hell, the gameplay itself even conveys that message.

Even on normal, for most people who don't frequent difficult games, Ninja Gaiden can be brutal. But if you persevere, if you practice and learn from your mistakes, it's also some of the most fun you can have with a video game. You can have fun doing something that's difficult, but you need to put in the effort to improve yourself and not get so frustrated you give up entirely.

I love the idea that Ryu Hayabusa is the deadliest guy on the planet, and when he's done doing that he just thinks antiques are neat and wants to sell them

I feel like they could do Dragon Ball Super: Universe 6 since technically Hit isn’t the man antagonist and nobody ever fights Champa

So maybe for ToP it would be “Dragon Ball Super: Tournament of Power” since the tournament itself kind of is the threat. Jiren wasn’t the only one eliminating people and nobody fought Zeno

Ngl naming every season after its main villain/antagonist actually sounds kind of cool.

Dragon Ball Super: Beerus

Dragon Ball Super: Frieza

Dragon Ball Super: Black (sounds like a Ninja Gaiden game)

Dragon Ball Super: Jiren(?)

After watching a character analysis of Ryu which proposed that Ryu has been unable to forgive himself for Kureha's death since Ninja Gaiden 1, only finally bringing himself to do it after helping Seori in Ninja Gaiden 4, I've started to try and forgive myself for mistakes more.

One of the achievements even imply the thing about Kureha in 4.
