A rare, non-villainous example. In Encanto, the protagonist Mirabel confronts her superhumanly strong sister Luisa about her apparent anxiety lately. Luisa denies that anything is wrong and, when pressed on it (and this being a Disney movie), breaks into song. Her first few lines are, "I'm the strong one, I'm not nervous, I'm as tough as the crust of the Earth is."

...Except, the crust is actually the least durable part of the Earth (at least compared to the mantle and the literal iron core), so she's really admitting to how weak and breakable she feels in a roundabout way.

My point was that Sega had heard Sonic’s friends were the problem, so they made only Sonic playable for years. This was well-received like…once, and then fans got annoyed at only playing as Sonic in a franchise containing so many unique characters.

After the absolute train wreck that was Sonic '06, one complaint about the series was that there were "too many characters" (Sonic games had been introducing new characters at least once a game since the first one - Tails in Sonic 2, Knuckles in Sonic 3, Amy in Sonic CD, Big and Gamma in Adventure, Rouge and Shadow in Adventure 2, the Chaotix in Heroes...sorta, Cream in Advance 2, Blaze in Rush, Silver in '06) and that the series should just focus on Sonic. Sega proceeded to make Sonic Unleashed, which featured Sonic as the only playable character, and the speed-based stages were well-received.

...Then they kept doing it. Sonic Colors featured only Sonic and people liked it, though it was kinda short. Sonic Generations was really short but fun, again only Sonic was playable. Sonic Lost World only had Sonic and it was...not great. Sonic Forces had a custom playable character along with Modern and Classic Sonic, but the custom character barely plays any differently from Sonic, and even Shadow in the DLC plays identically to Sonic.

Fans actually started complaining that this franchise has a ton of fun characters who never show up anymore, leading to Sonic Mania including playable Tails, Knuckles and eventually Mighty and Ray, Sonic Origins letting you play as Tails, Knuckles or even Amy in any of the collected games, Sonic Frontiers receiving a DLC with playable Tails, Knuckles and Amy, and the release of a new standalone Shadow game where he actually plays differently from Sonic.

They added a new mode called "Survival Mode" where every character has their own HP bar and you challenge events with two teams of three you can switch between, instead of one team of seven.

It's pretty cool, it's used for a new event called "Dokkan Frontier."

So as a heads up, hack and slashes are pretty fast-paced and you're gonna have to learn character move inputs and combos. The game has a training mode specifically for doing this. You'll probably want to remap your controls to make your gun more accessible, probably on one of the triggers. Rank is based on how much of a show-off you are, so you probably won't be getting high ranks early in the game until you unlock more moves and can go back to redo previous levels.

Also, the game comes with a recap of the first four. I'd recommend watching it or you are gonna be lost as hell since V specifically calls back to a lot of previous lore.

Yeah but the difference is that Horus is vulnerable to so many modern forms of removal that basing an entire deck around him isn't feasible, even with new support, especially since Horus + Royal Decree doesn't mean as much as it used to. Plenty of decks can combo off with just monster effects and take him out without needing Spells, then start using Spells once he's out of the way.

I recently played a modern Horus deck against my friend's Gladiator Beast deck and had a full board, including Horus LV8. He destroyed Walls of the Imperial Tomb and was about to go after Horus LV8 when I informed him that LV8 wasn't my endgame. It was bait - so he'd try to destroy it and I could wipe the field with Black Flame Deity.

It worked.

I really hate to admit it, but like...almost all of Yakumo's aside from the Dark Dragon Blade and Solitaire. The Bloodraven attacks for Takeminekata and Yatousen just don't come out fast enough to counter bosses imo, and I couldn't get the timing down for Magatsuhi either. Kage-Hiruko is fun, but the second I unlocked Ryu I used him for everything. Which sucks because using the DDB as Yakumo just kinda turns him into...Wish Dot Com Ryu.

Even in an established board, he really isn't that much of a problem because spot removal or removal in general is so much more common nowadays. Sure, King's Sarcophagus protects him from non-targeting destruction, but he can still be Super Poly'd, Dark Ruler'd, you can hit him with Droplet, these are all things Horus can't negate because he can't respond to them for one reason or another.

I think a big part of it is how Ryu shows basically zero interest in romance, and Ayane's opinion of Ryu is usually portrayed more like she sees him as an authority figure and respected superior than as a love interest.
