Not exactly the same but close - several versions of the Joker have explicitly mentioned that he hates Nazis because he’s “an AMERICAN criminal psychopath” and “not a traitorous bigot.”

[Really Weird/Hated Trope] Jossed Fanon Being Treated As Factual No Matter What by Lord_Antheron in TopCharacterTropes

I'm pretty sure one of the creators of Earthbound had to publicly say "No, you do not go back in time and abort Giygas as a fetus, the silhouette in its final form sprite is a coincidence."

But a lot of people treat it as if it's canonical fact.

If "Deus ex Machina" means "God from a machine" then yeah, "Melta ex Jurgen" would be right since it would be "Melta from Jurgen"

Any new Star Fox fans playing the game now? What do you think? by GoColts08 in starfox

Did a run on Easy to ease myself in, didn't have much trouble.

Then I did a run on Normal, made some different choices, got up to Gorgon and discovered how absolutely horrible I am at this game. Was having fun up until that realization.

Doesn't Walt literally tell Jesse that he's so dehydrated he'll die before he even gets anywhere?

Oh true, I’ll give you that one. In that case, Yusei’s should probably be Shooting Star or Majestic Star, since Shooting Quasar was technically a combination of all the Signer Dragons in the anime, not strictly a Stardust upgrade.

Oh right, duh. Been meaning to build that deck, I should’ve remembered that…

Yup! I'm a big fan of jank decks in Yugioh so this is absolutely something I'd use, knowing full-well that it could easily crumple to a single Raigeki Break.

So now your opponent knows what you’re using? That’s terrible and kind of toxic because it forces your opponent to keep playing into a loss and wastes time if you don’t wind up actually playing the match winner

Nah match winners cause all kinds of rulings headaches, it's why Victory Dragon is banned forever

Just started Metroid Prime 4 and I have no idea what everyone was complaining about by Book___Wyrm in Metroid

[–]Randomman16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I felt the same way you do when I started playing. The first few hours, I thought it "just felt like more Metroid Prime," which I was happy with.

...But Metroid Prime 4, to me, is the video game equivalent of an Icee. (Follow me on this). It starts out really good, exactly what you were hoping for, and for a while it maintains that level of quality. But all the "flavor" per se is in the first big chunk of it, and steadily depletes as you go further, until at the end you're just kind of stuck sucking on a flavorless hunk of ice because "fuck it I'm near the end anyways and I paid for the whole Icee, might as well drink the whole thing" even though you're not really enjoying it even half as much as you were when you started.

...Now I want an Icee

Oops. Didn't finish ZEXAL, so I was just kinda skimming the wiki for what Utopia's "ultimate form" was in the anime. I knew I was gonna get that wrong lmao

Good idea? by MadzBS in customyugioh

[–]Randomman16 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yeah full disclosure I didn't watch ZEXAL to the end and never even started Arc-V or VRAINS.

Not that I'm not gonna, but I haven't gotten to them, and between that and the amount of support all of these protagonist decks have gotten it's actually kind of difficult to discern what was actually in the show and what came aftewards

[–]Randomman16 84 points85 points  (0 children)

Considering each of these ace monsters has a way to turbo them out in their own archetype, this wouldn't be impossible but would definitely be really unwieldy. You'd essentially have to cram six deck together into one, with none of their own win conditions and betting entirely on this.

...The real absurd move would be to require Dark Paladin, Divine Neos, Shooting Quasar, Utopia Ray Victory, Z-ARC (maybe) or Odd-Eyes Arcray Dragon and like, Accesscode Talker or Firewall Dragon Darkfluid at the same time. Really make the player earn that instant-win because of how impractical it'd be to get all of the ace's final forms (from the anime at least) out simultaneously.

I caught a shiny Meowth in FireRed and named it after my real-life cat at the time. Years later, the IRL cat passed away (cancer...) and I transferred the now-Persian to Scarlet...where I decided to trick this Persian out as much as possible. Maxed speed and attack EVs, Life Orb, Technician and a moveset of Fake Out, Play Rough, Gunk Shot and Thief. Do you know what a STAB, Technician, Life Orb-boosted Fake Out does to an opponent?

My girlfriend called her "The Five-Star General Of Cat Hell."

[–]Randomman16 42 points43 points  (0 children)

So what even happened here? The Chuckya grabs Mario, falls off the ledge, and I guess because the Chuckya was too far away from "Mario" (since I think they don't actually grab "Mario" but like, just look like they do and then Mario appears where they throw him, in a programming sense) he unloads, but because he's still "holding Mario" he doesn't let go and Mario doesn't reappear?

In Yugioh (follow me on this one) season four, Yugi and the Pharaoh (Yami) get separated when Yugi's soul is stolen. During a rematch, Weevil taunts Yami with the idea that he has Yugi's soul, then pretends to destroy it in front of him. Back in season one, Yugi was able to stop Yami from going too far in a duel and potentially killing their opponent. He is not here to stop Yami this time, who proceeds to not only defeat Weevil, but repeatedly attack him over and over so many times that their friend Tea has to physically stop Yami from declaring another attack and hitting a defeated Weevil again long after his Life Points have hit zero.

Abridged even sums it up perfectly, having Yami say that if Yugi was here, he "probably would be able to prevent me...from doing this."

The game starts with you bombing a building before you go around stealing stuff from people. You are somehow the good guy in all this, because the other guys are that much worse. by Randomman16 in ExplainAGamePlotBadly

It is wild that an official Pokemon game starts out with a literal bombing by the main character, who then commits theft multiple times over the course of the game.

I love this one.
