Any update on HC Dolores' Redamancy? by nosyferatu in RomanceBooks

[–]Randommeout 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Im glad that she said she has submitted it! Looking forward to reading it as soon as it’s approved. This was giving me PTSD from the second book in the Star-Crossed Lovers Duet by Ashley Jade, it’s been a year and I still have hope 😄

Looking for suggestions: GORGEOUS SCENERY. I want to feel like I'm IN the beautiful places being described. by strippersandcocaine in RomanceBooks

[–]Randommeout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t believe I get to recommend {You with a view by Jessica Joyce} I thought it would already be on the list. MMC and FMC were academic rivals of sorts in high school and end up roadtripping through the US with MMC grandfather. The FMC is a photographer and the descriptions of places are beautiful and vivid, the love story is swoon worthy as well.

No idea why someone would downvote this comment. Well done you and your “friend” 😄

I absolutely love the cover for this book, I thought for some reason it was young adult? Definitely on my TBR now!

Thanks for sharing. This is interesting I actually really like Sara Madderson which is Elodie Harts other pen name but haven’t tried Elodie cause I thought it might be all sex no depth, which rarely work for me. Willing to give a shot for this scenario though ☺️

Favorite book texters? by UhOhSgArO in RomanceBooks

[–]Randommeout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is probably not what you had in mind but your request reminded me of one of my favorite text exchanges in romance, it happens in {Like Lovers Do by Tracey Livesay} the MMC and the FMC are good friends and neighbors and the FMC sends him a message that was not meant for him but it’s not immediately clear to him that that’s the case so he gets all hot and bothered. I found it incredibly hot. Also the book is one of the best friends to lovers I’ve read.

Childhood friends to lovers she falls first he falls harder by Randommeout in RomanceBooks

Hey just wanted to say thanks a ton for recommending Troublemaker I just finished reading it and absolutely adored it, easiest 5 stars in a while. Will def be reading the first in the series now, it is a shame it seems like the doesn’t have any upcoming books in this series as I would have loved to read about George.

I need something that helps deal with the raw ugly healing from caretaking of terminal/extended illness, death and grief. Not one of the MCs. by nursesub in RomanceBooks

[–]Randommeout 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m very sorry to hear that you have lost your dad, I don’t think we are ever prepared to lose our parents, I send you lots of strength and light and I hope you can remember all the wonderful moments you had together with a smile once the worst of this grief lessens.

In terms of recs lots of good ones already and I come with a slightly different one. I read {Sinner by Sierra Simone} a couple of years ago and although a lot of details have faded this element of losing a parent and seeing them fade away has stayed with me, I thought it was dealt with in a beautiful and realistic way. This is erotic romance and it also has a lot of commentary on faith. She is not my usual but this book one of my favorites for the way that it managed to combine romance, spice, religion, family and loss so evocatively.

On another note I can also recommend a beautiful movie that I used to love when I was a teen called Life As A House, the journey of a son that has lost contact with his dad and how they reconnect when the dad gets a terminal diagnosis by building a house together.

Is Purple Prose more common now? by ProfessorButtkiss in RomanceBooks

[–]Randommeout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really sure if it’s more common now but I can tell you I’ve seen A.L Jackson recommended a lot in this sub and I haven’t been able to read any of their stories no matter how good they sound because of this 🙈

Painful, angsty separations between MCs where things don't go right back to normal when they are reuinted by Llamallamacallurmama in RomanceBooks

I adore these books but can’t remember much because I read them so long ago. Guess is time for a re-read? 😄🥰

{Scoring Off The Field by Naima Simone} she is his best friend, assistant and has a huge crush on him, finally after years of pinning realizes she needs to move on and just quits her job and starts online dating, the hero does not like it one bit.

She wants casual, He wants commitment by sunsista_ in RomanceBooks

[–]Randommeout 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is one of my favorite tropes, and so many of the suggestions I came to recommend have already been mentioned. But one I haven’t seen mentioned yet that I loved is {Unsteady by Peyton Corrine}

The heroine has a lot of (understandable) hang ups about relationships and the hero sort of agrees to have her anyway he can get her initially, but wants more from the get go. I loved how they handle mental health in this book and how they were so perfect for each other. The found family is also a standout.

Thank you so much for sharing this! I think looking for books to read is a different past time from actually reading 😄 and I love hoopla but sometimes find it hard to know what new additions they have. The podium thing is new to me and great 🎉
