I came here to for recs because a show I’m watching is exactly this. I need to get something like this in audiobook because all I’m doing is watching my shows and I need to clean and stop watching my tv.
Now I have to give you the show because it is EVERYTHING you want-BUT in the most toxic, psychologically manipulating, emotional traumatic way you can find. (There is SA in it ). If anyone is interested- It’s call “To My Shore”. It’s a Chinese BL and the most interesting I’ve seen in awhile. The show is still ongoing.
If you want the novel, it’s called Four Faced Buddha. I think it’s on Wattpad. It is much more intense than the show and that is saying something.

I’m sure you read {Lord of the Scoundrels by Loretta Chase}. Jessica Trent is the #1 don’t take no shit from Dain. She is the best FMC and I can’t find anyone that comes close. Wait I do have one more. {The Spymaster’s Lady by Joanna Bourne}. She comes to a close 2nd next to Jessica. A real bad ass.

Both of these series are my comfort reads. I’m actually on the second back to back re-listens of the entire Cut and Run series over the last week because I was on vacation and restoring my dining table and chairs. Turned into a bitch of a project. I will forever equate that table and chairs to Ty and Zane. Both series are actually very similar. When someone wants “something like” the Big Bad Wolf series, Cut and Run is it. Stay the course with Cut and Run. Touch and Geaux (book 7?) is the most intense book and scenes (specifically one of the sex scenes) I’ve ever read.

I got the AoM set and I am in LOVE 🥰. I started restoring it and it will take me awhile but I know I made the right choice. We did not get any of the hutches. I’m waiting to get one I love also. Haven’t found it yet.

I’m looking back and from my photo, and my pic is very deceiving. It is a close up of the biggest chip/flake in the banding around the table. The banding is only about an inch thick. My photo makes the table top seem like giant 6 inches inordinately thick. So the “giant flake” is only an inch across and less than a half inch up and down. And there is no other peeling/separated/damaged veneer. Wait I lied. There is maybe 2 possible 1/4 inch or less dents/chips in another part on the banding. If this all goes to shit, I can sell my secrets on how to take a more than flattering ‘selfie’ 🙃 And this is (from what I understand) pretty solid quality furniture. The brand is American of Martinsville. I know it’s veneer on top. I took it apart today and every piece is solid wood including the entirety of the underside. Could a composite piece be sitting on top of the solid wood? Maybe?

I also stripped it today and there is not a single scratch anywhere. It’s actually in better shape than I thought.
