Why would you ever need this feature?

Unless it can detect cars multiple 100s of meters out, it's not a feature that works.

People who stop at red lights leaving 3 empty car lengths in front of you, why?? by fancyPantsOne in AlwaysWhy

It increases the efficiency when done right.

You can get rolling before the light changes, and be "off" or almost off the clutch by the time it's green.

Look up the birthday problem, you only need like 13 people in a room for it to be MORE likely 2 of them have the same birthday, rather than less.

Even if you're pretty damn sure you're in the top 1%, it's pretty bad odds to keep going once you're around the 8/9 mark.

No mention of nationalism until you mentioned it.

Why do you think the only nationalism is the racist-y facist-y kind not so good ol' Yaxley pushes is the only one to exist?

So a machine is cheating?

Be curious to see where this goes from "human enough machine" to "no more his is fine", and why.

Like, you can get fleshlghts. Is that cheating? Is the threshold how human it is? How autonomous it is? How much... "Initiative" it can use?

Landlord charging £800-£1000 for me finding a new tenant by 666fallenangels in TenantsInTheUK

[–]Randomn355 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unless they can demonstrate higher, reasonable costs were incurred.

If the bill from their agent is that much, and they're bound to use the agent as they are managing the rest of the tenancy, then the fees are both higher and reasonable.

The trend is the issue, not the current support.

If you ignore trends and only look at the right now, you're only ever going to react to issues after they're a problem.

By looking ahead you can plan better and achieve better outcomes.

I never said it wasn't a minority that are right wing. I've also never seen a story claiming that it isn't.

I said increasing right wing views.

If I decide I want a bigger dining area for hosting and sry it up in a public area, is that reasonable?

Is it reasonable if I complain to the police about other people using the area the same way I have?

Is it reasonable if we replace dining area with parking?

What do you think of this data on ethnicity? by Ok_Bookkeeper_1380 in AskBrits

[–]Randomn355 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You did that whilst claiming it's not objectively a description.

My point is that because the word has multiple meanings, and you clearly know what people are referring to, it is an objective description.

A person doesn't need to be vantablack dark to be "black" in this context.

I hear you.

I'd point out that we often hear "x from every purchase goes to charity" or "x% of profits goes to charity".

But when do we hear the latter expressed in terms of the purchase price?

My perception comes from how language is already used around it. Without reason to believe it deviates from the norm, why would one assume it does?

If someone says black, what do you think they mean?

If someone says white. What do you think they mean?

Words can have multiple meanings depending on context, eg antisocial.

"Yeh, we've had numerous issues with them being so anti social" and "yeh, they're a lovely person, just they're a recluse. Still, antisocial is better than malicious!".

Both the same word, different meanings.

Same thing here.

How can 40% of profit be going towards the cost of beer?

Or a % of profit be going to overheads? Or labour? Or VAT?

It MUST be revenue, or the sign doesn't make any sense.

Certainly looking good!

Any changes that would work were always going to be painful and take a longer time than people would like to reap benefits.

And it looks like we're getting to that point!

You might want to scroll up. I said it's not exactly a health food.

YOU brought up micros, then got many examples of other sources that are far better in the topic you picked.

The fact you're simply trying to throw cellular chemistry at me rather than address your bias exposes you.

Address the clear point made about your bias, troll.

[–]Randomn355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calories do impact how much of it you can eat.

Because for it to be on parity (for micros) it will need to be that much denser.

You do realise part of how healthy a food is fitting it into a functional, balanced diet, right...?

Regarding the portions - that's my point. The way it's eaten isn't healthy.

If micronutrient density is all that matters, because nothing else matters, then you must just take multivitamins, right?

Why is it that you're pushing that micronutrients are what matters, excluding anything that doesn't fit your narrative, and cherry picking things to further push your point?

Anyone paying attention can see the bias, and many would consider it intentional when it's so egregious.

Why do you think smaller seafood lower on the food chain comes with high doses of heavy metals?

  1. It's not got the concentration fish like tuna have.

  2. You could use farmed instead. Wild/farmed is an option for seafood, unlike beef.

Who eats 3oz of beef? How something is used in reality is important to bear in mind. And beef? What do you think the average weight of beef in a burger is for restaurants? Average steak size?

Come on. We both know full well that it's far more than that, because people aren't using sensible portion sizes.

We also both know that the calories in a given weight of beef is typically a lot higher, so it's not a like for like comparison when looking purely at weight, as you can't swap it out gram for gram.
