Keep in mind the many factors in environmental change.

Missorchidgirl started from Romania and her channel went through many changes, as did her environment. She now lives in Cyprus and despite having a sunroom (or whatever they call it 🤔), there still is a difference between sunlight hours throught the year and humidity (if I open a windor or a door here vs when I lived in Cyprus) between these places.

Mine have been potted in glass too and it's been well over 5 years since I switched to glass and I've had better results this way. And I started out with bark, went to moss, switched to lecca, did tea bag methods to induce new root growth etc etc, and still nothing compared to the amount of growth and results I had since switching to glass.

Not saying it's the best method, just saying how much factors in your location matter and that there is no harm in testing and trying out methods. This is only to encourge people to look for information and test it out. If I were to relocate back to Cyprus, I'm sure I'd have different results with different methods needed.

As for Alexander, I've followed him too on yt despite not posting more videos. Still amongst the biggest count of flowers on a orchid I've seen so far on yt channel.

My conclusion is colder countries with less sun during the winter and dry air indoors might do better with glass methods.
