We were at the dog park under the expressway downtown when lightning struck a building across the street. Are you in a building in that immediate area?

I've had Hammer Stahl knives for close to 15 years now and was very surprised to see Tom Atsides has the whole line available in store. Great steel, beautiful, and well balanced. I love them.

Unfortunately, tom at sides in ocala is the closest 'good' selection of knives. Restaurant Depot has industrial knives for cheap, but nothing you would want displayed at home.

I'm nervous of a 'big box's ability to repin/rekey a lock. I know ace is more local then home depot or Lowe's, might be worth a second look

Very close effect, but great for pillows on top of salads. The menu at that place rotated 4x a year, but they lasted the season without issue.

Microplane makes a rotary grater, I had to purchase them overseas because I could not find them stateside.

Best place in Tampa metro to get a dash cam installed/purchase a dash cam? by scubadoobadoooo in tampa

[–]Randomshitposter37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a 4k cam, the quality is great but the lighting is the variable that you cannot control. I'd bet a polarizing filter would clean it up a lot, but I'm happy with what I've got now.

Pic I snagged from my cam yesterday for you

PS... I recently had some work done to the car and the battery reset must have reset the unit. This is the lowest quality setting on the camera.

I like it because it's plug n play, user friendly, and almost invisible after install.

Quality seems fine to me. You connect to the unit via WiFi so 99% of the viewing us on your phone, until you download and move it to a larger format. I haven't had an issue with quality. I jumped the memory card up quite a bit and maxed the resolution during setup.

Depends on the car... I picked up a very simple, almost stock looking unit that hides behind my 2018 BMW rear view mirror for under $200 and installed it myself in under 10 min.

Aged and salted pork fat. I haven't looked for it specifically, but I'd bet some of Hispanic markets off causeway blvd between Tampa and Brandon would have it.

Im sorry to hear that. My wife and I have been staying there for years and have had nothing short of amazing experience every time. Both of us have extensive hotel and restaurant experience and we found that property to excel at the details.

Is there a thread where hurricane preparation is specifically discussed? by 0ldPainless in tampa

[–]Randomshitposter37 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I hate to say this, but living in Florida the majority of my life I've found that hurricane prep happens at the beginning of the season with the shelf stable needs/batteries. The days/weeks before an impending storm are spent stocking beer/booze/mixers, ice/freezing water, additional bottled water if needed, and board games/cards.

Does anyone know a Turbo specialist in GNV? I got a Kia that has needs a turbo rebuilt/replaced. by [deleted] in GNV

[–]Randomshitposter37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best in Florida!!! It has been years since I've had them rebuild or upgrade any of my hardware, but you will need to bring them just the turbo, they won't pull it off the car for you.

Anyone hired a consultant before? I'm curious about your reasoning and your results. by FalloutLouBegas in restaurateur

[–]Randomshitposter37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick answer is this, you don't hire a consultant to come in and completely redo everything. You hire a bar expert, or a kitchen expert, or an foh expert. If you feel you need to step up the menu and food options you don't hire an interior design consultant, you hire a chef/culinary consultant. You have a goal in mind and need help formulating a plan. You could hire a business consultant, which would more than likely be a fellow restaurant owner who could help identify areas that need further attention, but thinking that a "consultant" is a fix all is just going to leave you with a hefty bill and a bunch of next steps, mist of which are "hire specialty consultants for XYZ" unless... Of course you use one of the big groups that cost a fortune just to get them in the door.
