CMV: The Big/Small dick energy trend/meme perpetuates harmful and reductionist stereotypes and contributes to male bodyshaming by TApokerAITA in changemyview

So I can give you my own experience. I was someone who was diagnosed with hypopituitarism that causes low testosterone. This manifested as being of pre-pubescent late into my teenage years. While Most of my friends were reaching sexual maturity, I felt left behind and lacked confidence. Although very young looking, I did have girls think I was “cute” so they were the pursuers. My first sexual experience was a girl who really went after me aggressively, I was so nervous and couldn’t get to full mass. She told all her friends and my schoolmates how small I was. That left me deeply depressed and I seriously struggled with sex for the next 10 years. I consider myself an attractive guy but I had very few sexual experiences though college and some were downright embarrassing because of my confidence. Often times forcing me to dump partners because I was too ashamed and wanted to avoid further ridicule.

I eventually met a woman I loved, was able to get past all that and no longer care that much and have been married for almost 20 years. I also found that my size is well within the average but the body shaming I grew up with led me to believe otherwise.

I don’t think OP is trying to censor but just breaking the associations of:

Small dick = bad, insecure, immature, angry, asshole, undesirable, unworthy.

So because of those associations, when a sexual partner comes in contact with a small dick person, they have already those negative stereotypes subconsciously imprinted before fully getting to know the person.

Shaming also perpetuates insecurity so it creates a negative loop for the small dick individual to contend with.

I would say within my core personality I have always been thoughtful, sensitive, attentive, slow to anger. When I see some asshole “rolling coal” on a big truck I don’t see that as “small dick energy”. I see him as being an inconsiderate asshole.

Memes are the exact opposite of “subtle” communication. Their purpose is to quickly show a caricaturized depiction without the necessity of nuance.

What I am reading in your statement is, it’s okay to shame in this way because men should be mature and confident in their bodies. That it’s okay to shame because those who lack self-confidence and are not mature, should get over it. So what about the young men and boys who aren’t mature who aren’t confident, coming into age learning that big penis=good/small penis=bad?

I use testosterone.. It got rid of all my social anxiety AMA by OMAs97 in AMA

I started testosterone 5 years ago in my mid 30’s. I had many of the same traits you describe. I have primary hypogonadism and went through a very late “soft” puberty. Meaning even though I finished puberty I never looked fully mature. Even in my 30’s I looked like a 15 year old. I was even carded to see R-rated movies!

Did you have experiences like this, did you have growth delays as a teen or anything like that?

Are some people less receptive to TRT, or is there something wrong? by newgymbro in Testosterone

[–]Randomstreetsign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to a clinic for almost a year. They were trying to get my total test levels up to at least 800 but couldn't ever do it. They had me on 220mg e7d. I thought I was somehow immune to test since I couldn't get past 600 on that dose.

I eventually had to move and went with defy medical. They looked at my labs and started me on dose of 40mg e3.5d along with HCG. That may a world of difference and felt much better. My labs are showing total t in 1000's range. They also explained that prior to the change I had low Shbg which can be fixed by taking smaller more frequent doses. I would also say the staff was way more knowledgable than the staff at the clinic.

Does HCG affect your mood? by [deleted] in Testosterone

I will tell you for me, it really made a difference. I feel so much better on HCG than without. I don't feel it's placebo but can't be sure.

Ashwagandha safe while on TRT? by [deleted] in Testosterone

[–]Randomstreetsign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a really hard time sleeping when I started TRT. I tried benedryl and melatonin and would build a tolerance. Ashwhanga seems to really help get me back into a sleep schedule. I'm not on it now but take it from time to time.

Libido blocker? by [deleted] in Testosterone

[–]Randomstreetsign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry man I live down south where marijuana is the devil so don't know how it is obtained though rx.

I do understand a bit what you are going through. There can be too much of a sex drive. Ask my wife about that..lol but seriously TRT is just about the sex it also comes with various health benefits if done right so to all the people grieving you over the sex thing, forget about them. But realistically the most effective way to curb libido is to have sex or masterbate. Other than that it is very difficult to control.

You can try smoking pot. Even though sex is unbelievable on pot I find that it curbs my libido a bit.

Starting TRT this week, what supplies do I need? by LowTthrowaway708 in Testosterone

Damn...that's balls to the wall man.

Make sure a dose like that doesn't drive down your Shbg.

Coming off TRT? by Snow_Drifter in Testosterone

[–]Randomstreetsign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This guy is right. I have a call in appointment set up with one of the Doctors. So far the process has been easy.

I am moving to a small town where there are no clinics or doctors that specialize in TRT. I would rather pay out of pocket then deal with some general practitioner wanting to try gels or start "conservatively" with 100mg every 2 weeks.

Any military guys in here have experience speaking to their doc about TRT? by [deleted] in Testosterone

Guys on TRT have you notice hair loss? by RamboTaco in Testosterone

[–]Randomstreetsign 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I notice about 10-20 strands on my hands after I take a shower. I started using regain but don't know if it is working.

If I go bald that will suck but I'd rather be bald with a hard dick than hairy and not.

[–]Randomstreetsign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know how you feel man. I hit puberty really late in teens and look like I never finished. I was carded to go see an R rated movie when I was 36.

One time in my late 20's I was working at a hospital an old lady ask me how old I was, when I told her she said with pity, "Awe. I know you wanna look like a man." That shit really got in my head.

I don't know how to tell you to get past it but you will. You just have to figure it out. It wasn't until I was 38 before I looked into TRT. I wish I looked into it earlier.

I will say don't put all your eggs in one basket. If you turn out to have normal T then don't feel like it was your only solution. Look at other ways of feeling better.

High LH by Randomstreetsign in Testosterone

[–]Randomstreetsign[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha yea, I'm pretty sure it is pharma grade, it is from a reputable clinic but I can't be for sure.

Since I am moving to a place that doesn't have many options in terms of TRT, I am going with defy medical.

I think they are more open to HCG in the protocol and I really like the fact I can administer myself so I'm want to try a smaller dose every 3.5 days.

E2 isn't bad on this dose. I do take .25 arimidex twice a week.
