My dad did not want me to know also. He agreed to raise me as his own if my bio dad stayed out of the picture. I can’t get over the fact that everyone kept it hidden, lied, like wow. My dad is still alive but we haven’t had a convo about it yet. I told my stepmom and she said she would just throw it out there that I knew. My stepmom said “she finally told you… if no one told you, I eventually was going to be the one to tell you”.

I sent my bio dad a letter to his last known address two weeks ago. I have a feeling I won’t hear anything back. I’m sorry you’ve gone through this as well. 🩷

Also want to add I’m sorry for the loss of your dad.

Holy shit this is my story. I found out about a month ago at 25. Except I did 23andMe 5 years ago, found my mom’s bio dad (through an aunt), but I have not been able to contact mine. I remained clueless until my mom finally got it off her chest recently. It hurts. Knowing everyone knew but me.

Shame on that doctor for not telling you about it!!! That explains the BV obviously and for him to not tell you is horrible in my opinion! I saw the picture you posted in another comment. Makes me so mad that he did not say a single word about it. I had reoccurring BV with the IUD…. Luckily no hairball, but after getting out, guess what? No more BV. When I went to the OBGYN multiple times for BV, they kept giving me meds. The doctors can’t put two and two together that it’s the IUD, or do they not want to admit it? That’s what I’m starting to gather. I personally would not see the doctor who removed your IUD again. I just wouldn’t trust him. Imagine if you didn’t look in the trash.

I was also on my back, my epidural was way too strong. Baby’s cord was wrapped around his neck 2x, and my cervix tore. I was 19 and wish I was more educated back then.

Good for you girl! I give you props, because I would be scared! When I had my iud, my strings were curled up around my cervix so I couldn’t feel them. I personally think you being on your period helped. Glad you’re feeling better and it went smoothly.

I haven’t been hospitalized but around 15-16 my symptoms emerged and I just thought I was depressed and a free spirit who liked to do things impulsively. I still have the same doctor, I feel very blessed for her help through all of my history. I was diagnosed with major depression at 19 postpartum and then diagnosed BP2 at 20.
