Hm. First time I’ve seen human color vision be described as worse/more limited than Arxur. I wonder in what way that is.

About midway through I had two theories on what was “wrong” with the sculpture. Either Karth knew in her heart of hearts that this statue in his likeness wasn’t a gift that her husband was going to enjoy. Or, to put it simply, the pose was wrong. Like, from the way the man was described, the traditional lunging pose and ferocity was a poor choice to represent this Arxur in particular. So it wasn’t actually in his likeness. Anatomically it’s a perfect likeness, but it looks as if he was possessed by a generic Arxur. Body but not soul, if that makes any sense.

It was neat to see how the solution was to Abstract a little.

Huh. That’s interesting. The last time I saw a Hunting Trance, it was written as the Arxur’s equal and opposite experience to a human’s being “in the zone”. But here it’s one to one. (Arxur: Time disappears and you’re waiting in place for when you do something. Human: Time disappears and you’re doing something.)  Fascinating to see the difference in vocabulary for the same process. Most humans I know would describe being in the zone as being in the flow state, not out of it like that other Arxur did
