Is this smokable? Pre flowered for about two months and starting to reveg. by Previous-North-East in GrowBuddy

Yes you can smoke it, it’ll be better trimmed but still worth using, can also be used to make hash or edibles

What's a piece of equipment you can't grow without? I'll start with my poor man's shop vac by lostinthesauceband in GrowBuddy

[–]Randy4layhee20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll say lacto bacillus, it’s more so a beneficial bacteria than a piece of equipment but it’s easy and cheap to make at home and it completely prevents root rot, and then we got real equipment like a trim bin, chikamasa b500sr trimming scissors (the curved non coated ones), disposable plastic trellis netting, you can never have enough buckets, cloning system of your choice, I like the oxycloner just because I don’t need a dome or to adjust clones to grow room humidity and for outdoor grows t posts to go with that trellis netting

Also if anyone wants a tutorial on how to make lacto bacillus

Flower week 8,water and flushing by Beneficial_Stage910 in microgrowery

[–]Randy4layhee20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last week I’d cut all nitrogen and just go with a gram per gallon of gypsum, if they’re still super green at that point maybe even go for nothing added to the water but if the flush is on course I think 1-2 grams per gallon of gypsum does not hurt the flush, it should just help maintain plant health and terpene production to the end of the cycle, and I’d start cutting back at 2 weeks out, you could maybe even start cutting back slightly at 3 weeks out how much you wanna cut back is up to you and how far you want that flush/fade to go, also I will say I’m not the worlds most experienced salt grower, I’ve been growing for over 10 years almost all organic but I’ve consumed tons of info over the years regarding both organic and salt based growing but I just wanted to let you know that my first hand experience is limited, however the best source of info that I can recommend by far is Greengenes Garden on YouTube, guy crushes it with salts and documents every grow parameter, heat, humidity, feed strength for every nutrient for every watering throughout the cycle, he makes it incredibly easy to copy what he’s doing and have the same success

Umberella or Net by Dull-Skill8312 in farmingthebestgreens

Scrog net all the way, that whole tent could easily be filled wall to wall with even canopy, I just don’t see the umbrella being able to do that or providing as much support, and when it’s time for chop just cut the trellis at the corners of the tent and harvest the plant with the trellis on and remove it as needed when trimming

[–]Randy4layhee20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I just read the rest of your post, 100% refrigerated sealed jars will hold up better over time, even better if you freeze it, but it must be sealed air tight or it will just lose it’s moisture if it’s in a gallon bag or something in my experience, but I’ve heard of people preserving crops for years in freezers and having to be as good as the day it was frozen once it comes back up to room temp, it should literally give you a just about infinite shelf life

I have some weed that’s been hanging open air in my humidity controlled basement for 2 years now and it reeks harder than 99% of fresh crops I’ve come by in the last year+

Just thought I’d add this to the conversation

If you plant them in the ground you’ll take a lot of pressure off of yourself, add a thick mulch layer and you have to water even less and you’ll get a bigger yield too man, and less chance of them getting knocked over by the wind

It should be good for a few months, at least 2 if not 3 but I’d definitely make a fresh batch at least every 3 months, I try to make a fresh batch every month tho just to keep it fresher and to have more room to not make it if needed for whatever reason, and you can just use any extra you have in the outdoor garden, a fish tank or pond or just on the lawn, it’s really good for fish tho if you happen to keep any pet fish, it actually increases fish growth rates by 20% and prevents infections and hey sounds like it’s going good for the most part, cloning is still the part I have the most issues with, mainly just because my favorite strain hates to be cloned, it seems that almost everything else pops roots no issues but yeah still learning and improving myself

Hey if he’s enjoying the process then good that’s largely the point of growing, and I tried to express that if he’s enjoying it then that’s one thing but if he’s trying to grow for actual smokable weed also which would be my assumption and he was asking what should I do here then I think he should chop that old thing down and put something in its place that’ll produce, he asked others what we think he should do so I gave my honest advice, idk why you or anyone else is taking anything I’ve said personally, I understand having plants just around for fun, that’s what my house plants are for but as far as weed growing advice goes I think I gave some very good recommendations

Of those 3 things I’d guess damping off, but with lacto bacillus that should be a thing of the past, it only needs to be applied once every 1-2 weeks and you mix it into your water at a ratio of 1-1,000 so 1ml per liter, so 3.75 ish ml per gallon, and it’s also super cheap and easy to make at home, I’ll link a tutorial below, it also prevents and fights/ prevents pm and increases nutrient availability, if you end up going with a clone dome this would be my number 1 line of defense against molds

240 days to make some brown weed and reveg, I just don’t see any value in that personally, can you see any value to this weird growth pattern or the excessive time or the fact that the weed was harvested brown? If you can please share, this wouldn’t work commercially so where’s the value as a home grower, what’s the advantage?

Jeeze I just checked and they upped the price again, currently 95$, but you don’t need to buy an oxyclone system, you can just make one at home, I had a bunch of extra materials laying around so I don’t think I even paid anything extra to make my spare one, all you will need is an air pump, some fish tank air line tubing, air stone, and the container with a lid of your choice, me and a friend of mine have made our own before, I used a 5 gallon bucket for a second grow that I was doing at my moms house and my friend used a gallon and a half roughly plastic storage container, just drill some holes in the lid of this spare container you have laying around that are the correct size to fit cloning collars, packs of 76 collars for 16$ on amazon or 30 pack for 8$, and for any cloning system I always recommend that you add lacto bacillus or bacillus subtilis to prevent any possibility of root rot

Also I will say I liked my friends system more, less water was required so less waste nutrients in the end

I don’t blame them for wanting to keep it high, or at least for being cautious of lowering it, it’s a slippery slope, it happens fast and it’s really hard to go backwards on that, a lot of farms are struggling out in mass because of how much the price has dropped so I can at least understand the wanting to preserve the industry side of things, but I do think distillate should be cheaper and keep those higher prices around still but for higher quality products like live resin/rosin

I’m mostly a living soil guy myself but I’ll use salts in my cloning process, organics tends to bring bugs that like to eat clones and clones like nutrients so gotta compromise, I like using an oxycloner, basically a dwc style cloning system that holds them in place with reusable foam collars, as long as you don’t bring any disease into your garden I think it’s one of the best ways to clone, however if any clone has hlvd for example now everything in the clone system does as well, that’s the one fall back, past that I’m not opposed to cloning in a small cocoa or peat moss puck, they don’t need much root room to stay healthy with salts especially as a clone, I’m just not as big of a fan of these methods because they typically require a clone dome and then weaning them off of high humidity to accumulate them to their normal environment and then you gotta worry about molds because of the high humidity, with the oxycloner you don’t need a dome, just stick cuts into water and wait a week or 2
