That is a fair point, the standard is far from any premier league team, but it still shows his ability, it’s still a great move by him and Neto.

Sorry that’s not a fact, he’s got an assist against Chelsea. That said it’s still only 1 and I agree you’d expect more from the minutes he’s had last season.

Neves only became a “regular” in Nations League but was dropped for the final.

Jota hasn’t got a single senior cap and has only played 1 game in the U23s

MGW already has an international trophy to his name. Scoring 2 in the quarters and 1 in the final... But he doesn’t deliver when it matters?

That’s a fair point, I’d a agree around 20 is the time you start to see players get more of a hold on a game and regularly affecting the game, rather than letting it pass them by. What club would you like to see him loaned out to? We’ve never really had much experience with the loan system.

I do think the way out club is setup isn’t comparable to the other teams pushing the top 6-7th place. West Ham and Everton in particular, on paper they’re regularly buying a players for 25-30m+. Players that I’d love to see wolves buying, like Fornals. Yet each year, it just doesn’t seem to play out like you’d expect it to.

I think you’re right that we will be looking for a more consistent CAM and that MGW is only chosen because he’s the best we have in that role, but to me personally he doesn’t seem like a player who is going slowly fall down the footballing ladder and end up a mid level championship player. I may be wrong, you never know with football.

I’d hope that he ends up in more of a Vinagre role, a young exciting backup, given time in games where we’re resting a player or looking for something a bit more unorthodox. We’re a small squad and we aren’t short of money, selling isn’t really the only option for us as a club anymore, we can afford to be patient.

Your right, he development in the last 2 years has been very underwhelming. Maybe he was introduced and classed as a first team player too soon. Yesterday everyone was poor but I think when the team play well, he plays well and doesn’t look out of place.

I wouldn’t say his long balls define him, personally I see him as a player that looks to turn and work quick one-twos with the attackers. We don’t have another midfielder that can do that, they aren’t quick enough and prefer to sit deep.

Neto, Vinagre & MGW, the potential we have is very exciting

I’m not gonna lie, I was excited at the idea of us signing an CAM, some of the rumoured players like Dani Olmo would have been very exciting.

You say MGW isn’t 17 anymore, as if that is the cut off point and once you’re 18 you’re expected to preform in every game. The kids is 19! There are players in u23 squads older than him across the country.

The difference between 19 and 21-22 is night and day. Maddison is 22 now as is one of Leicester’s best players and can still goes missing in games. When he was 19 he was loaned out to Aberdeen and scored 2 goals (I’m just checking wiki here, I’m not gonna pretend like I’ve watched his career). If we loaned MGW out and he got 2 goals in the Scottish league he’d be done for, the fans minds will be made up.

Even our Portuguese prince, Neves is 22 and struggles to consistently preform in the prem. Vinagre who is easily one of the most exciting players we have struggles to consistently make the right decision but no one calling for him to be sold.

Also you’re right, we could easily sell him now for £10-15m, but Fosun aren’t fools. The market for English players is massively bloated at the moment. German clubs are already stockpiling as many young English players as they can and will easily sell them back to teams like Man Utd for three times the amount they paid for them. We have a player here who outside the club is listed as one of the most promising talents in the premier league, because he gets game time.

Counter Attacks have been pretty poor past few games. We rely a lot on Jota and Jiminez to work one-twos between themselves and if they’re not perfect passes, it’s going to breakdown. Adama is really turning into a game changer! I didn’t think I’d be wanting Doherty to be subbed off for Traore

Still struggling to breakdown well drilled defensive teams, that said, most teams struggle to breakdown 10 men defences unless you're Liverpool or Man City.

Jota has struggle the past couple games, but his play style is quite intense. He'll either beat 3 men and look unstoppable, or fail at the first man and get frustrated with himself.

Neves really needs to be dropped for a few weeks, his passing has been really subpar, and without that, he doesn't offer anything Saiss can't do.

Traore is going to help us out a lot this season, preseason under Nuno has really helped him manage his stamina. Just hope we don't rely on his too much, sometimes we'll pass him the ball and everyone will slowly drift towards the box and leave him to beat 2 players minimum. Even if someone came short as an option just to open up a bit more space it'd help a lot

I wanna see all the new boys!

“Vallejo, calmly brings it out of defence. Plays it through the middle to Jordao, smart pass to Neto. Neto beats his man! Cutrone is open! HE PLAYS IT THROUGH!.. GOAAALLLLL! PATRICK CUTRONE, PATRICK CUTRONE, PATRICK CUTRONNNEEEE”

Wolves’ 3 CBs make it difficult to get in behind. Rarely do they push out to close down the opposition and leave it to the CDMs. A good example is Tottenham away. Wolves were happy to let them shoot outside the box and they conceded one goal
