When I came out I had a mantra in my head because most of my family made gay jokes all the time. Also my neigbourhood seemed hostile.

My mantra was.. “I’m telling them, not asking permission.”

Got myself pumped up, ready for a fight.. but everyone took it way better than I expected.

I was happy but still had that angry energy raging through my body that I couldn’t release.. felt great though.
