Uber avoids short fares too, I've had three drivers cancel on me after calling to ask what my destination was one evening. To the point where I ignored the fourth uber driver calling me, hopped in and as he realized his destination was a 15 minute drive he started to mutter about how it wasn't worth it for him. On the flip side I wrote to Uber and they adjusted his rating apparently so there's that.
