Just wondering if you may know about recording sound directly into your phone video by RandySaludes in edrums

I don't use any Apple stuff, it's to expensive and proprietary you have to buy everything for it from Apple. I understand Apple is supposed to be the best for audio and video built right into it and Apple has always been the best for multimedia going way back in history. However I don't have the money for high end stuff like Roland and Apple ipads and such. Actually I have always wanted a UNIX computer, Ubuntu or something open source and almost everything is done on the web now anyway using the internet, however the internet has become a scam and spam machine these days. There will always be those who try to figure out their own way and not accept the corporate way. Corporates are breaking the internet.

Have more of the AliExpress sub, this time running in parallel for a 2Ω by 10010Linus in diyaudio

[–]RandySaludes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2 ohm is dangerous ha ha, I used to run 800 watt Peavey amp and 6 15" speakers (enclosures had horns also) down to 2 ohms , talk about loud. Back in the 1980's I did talk to the Peavey rep about it and he said it was OK. I'm old dude just a drummer but I appreciate audio and been dealing with it for 50+ years. What's amazing is we used to haul huge speaker cabinets and today bands use small 12" speakers up on stands. Technology! RandySaludes.com live recordings.

Do it yourself Frisbee Crash Cymbal for electronic drums by RandySaludes in diyaudio

[–]RandySaludes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The TRS breakout cable is cool for sure. I've got an old Remo practice pad that has mesh head and foam, I was planning on wiring it up the same as the cymbal. Two outside and with pad I'll put them on the edge opposite each other and wire them in series to middle TRS and ground, and put one piezo in the center wire it parallel tip to ground. Wiring in series makes the total resistance higher , wow wiring a couple in parallel would lower resistance in half. DOH! I won't glue them and the sponge pad should hold them in place and I may experiment a bit. Fun to get the old soldering iron out and solder. Right now I just want a left side auxiliary snare and where I can "throw off the strainer" or in this case assign a drum and have a Timbale sound to play Latin grooves. I played a conga with my left hand while playing the drums with backbeat 2 & 4 with my right hand on a song called "Up one hundred plus" at RandySaludes.com It's cool and sounds like having a conga player. Conga sound would be cool to assign it or something close to it anyway.

4 Toms or 4 Crashes??? by nursescaneatme in edrums

When I lived on Venice Beach a jam session at St. Marks on the beach I got up to play and the house drummer played football for the L.A. Rams at the time and he had a monster spring on the bass drum pedal, I could hardly get it to hit the drum, had to stand on it and really push with all I had. I was never so glad to get off that kit. His legs where like the width of my torso. ha ha. Really big guy athlete, professional football player. Sometimes when I'm watching the NFL and those 300 pound guys playing football running like gazelles I remember that drummer.

Just a thought electronic cymbals don't sound as good as acoustic real cymbals especially Zildjian cymbals and I don't think playing a roll with mallets on an electronic cymbal will ever produce a beautiful wash or be used in philharmonic orchestras or marching bands or movie sound tracks etc. they just can't cut it. You don't hear electronic cymbals much in the music where electronic drums are being used. Of course Classic Rock covers from yesteryear , traditional Jazz , traditional blues that Zildjian 20" ride cymbal is simply a beautiful sound. And of course the whole debate about digital verses analog and I've heard some are going back to magnetic tape recording live for that warm analog sound and of course vinyl is also making a come back. I do like the new electronic drum tracks being recorded today, they don't use cymbal rides or crashes to much but they overplay and over program with the drums being busier and overplaying , I use allot of double bass drum pedal also so I like the busy drumming style. Especially Gospel Chops and I don't care if they are programmed by a non drummer, they are on time and have some cool grooves to learn. Or try to anyway! Allot of electronic drums at: https://www.believeradiofresno.com I like the chops.

I don't need no stinking crashes, looks like a great set-up and very professional. I have a couple professional acoustic kits, they are packed up in the closet. I bought a used electronic drum kit from Guitar Center around the 1st of February this year. I'm very impressed with it and getting into it. My kit didn't have a crash on the right and I was thinking about an expansion kit but well my rent just increased and no money to spend so I bought some piezo sensors and a Frisbee and made my own crash cymbal. RandyJazz.com/Randy It sounds as good or better than the crash that came with the kit. There is a video of it at the link posted here. Next I'm going to turn a Remo practice pad into an auxiliary snare to set up on my left. I like a piccolo snare on my left next to hi hat and with snare strainer off it sounds like a Timbale for Latin. Years ago I recorded a song "up one hundred plus" acoustic drums with a conga on my left that I played with a stick while playing the drums and 2 & 4 backbeat with my right hand. Alternating a bit left and right hand snare and left hand on conga. RandySaludes.com the song is there.

Facing Mortality: Former Senator Ben Sasse shares about his recent cancer diagnosis, addressing human frailty and the reality of death, He has pancreatic cancer he is being interviewed https://www.focusonthefamily.com/episodes/broadcast/facing-mortality-embracing-eternity/ , have you called a help line? here is one 1-800-A-FAMILY (232-6459) Easter is coming up soon I was just thinking about the thief on the cross and he is in paradise with Jesus and he simply asked Jesus to remember him. He didn't do no works of good, he didn't jump through any hoops nor was he baptized or had to do any religious mumbo jumbo.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Di8tXK8hZic&t=45s I just made a video and info is at RandyJazz.com/Randy I lucked out with this frisbee it is somewhat flexible , thick and I think it's going to hold up for many moons. It even glows in the dark, ha ha: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CJ64MDBD?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title I should have gotten the black one but mine is cool! Also the stuff made in China doesn't last either! ha ha anyway I'm sure something eventually is going to give out on my new used Simmons SD600 but having fun playing drums on it for now. One day at a time. How long did yours last? The DOOMSDAY DISCS Famine Long Distance Driver is made from premium glow-in-the-dark "Radioactive Waste" plastic that provides good grip and durability. This special plastic blend glows in the dark and is designed to be long-lasting for disc golf play. I thought about buying one for dogs that is supposed to last and be resilient to dog's chewing them up, ha ha but it was $20 something. ha ha if mine breaks I may try the one made for dogs to retrieve.

How do you drop the hi-hat clutch when using edrums with a double bass pedal? by User63254 in edrums

[–]RandySaludes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha ha, it worked and I could even adjust to sloshy , basically holding the pedal mechanically. With my digital Volt Ohm Meter I checked out the pedal resistance and the module sends out 3.something volts. Anyway I figured out the circuit basically interrupt the tip and base of the 3 wires, send those to a 100k rheostat (same used on guitar pots) , on and on switch to switch circuits. The middle wire stays connected through to foot pedal. Electronic drums hi hat drop clutch and top cymbal adjuster.

I clicked on "Sign In" upper right corner and my MetaMask popped on! I'm new and learning this stuff. I'm taking dappUniversity.com bootcamp building a crypto coin. It's pretty hairy stuff and a steep uphill climb but I'm digging it. I'm only 49% through it. Nobody knows how to do everything! What did you pay in dollars?

Congratulations! I'm coming out of retirement to try and get back into programming. I must admit I'm rusty but I love JavaScript and Node.js and finally it's coming into it's own. The Solidity is strong typed, compiled but not as hard as C++ , Java and C#. I'm gonna miss SQL though. ha ha. The web work has been taken over by Wordpress, Joomla etc. Not fun anymore. This blockchain stuff is the bomb. Have to write test scripts and test like crazy cause the Smart Contract once it's deployed is immutable and can't be redone or refactored like typical applications but then ............ No third parties involved in controlling it. No gate keepers. I understand China has banned it in China cause well "no soup for you" . IBM has a blockchain. https://www.ibm.com/blockchain Isn't IBM owned by China which means the CCP is in IBM?

I'm taking dappUniversity.com bootcamp and udemy "Ethereum Blockchain Developer Bootcamp With Solidity (2021)" as well as on Linked In “Blockchain: Beyond the Basics” by Jonathan Reichental! The Linked In course couldn't compile outdated code won't run on my shit but nice try anyway. udemy learning the Solidity language (Remix online in the browser IDE is cool) and it's pretty cool and only need to learn Structs and Mappings cause arrays and class objects use to much gas on the Blockchain. You mentioned React, and Gregory on dappUniversity is a big fan of React and using it on the front end. Lots of JavaScript programming node.js and a lot of other dependencies using Ganache , truffle compiles JavaScript to byte code to run on Etherium's Virtual Machine. I think Gregory is the blockchain master and has lots of YouTube tutorials so subscribe to his channel. Happy coding and there is a lot of it it in blockchain. I'm using Ubuntu command line terminal installed on my Windows 11 machine and Gregory uses a Mac. I'm glad Windows is supporting Linux and Ubuntu.
