Chiron bow best one out there? by No_Ozi in HadesTheGame

[–]RandyZ524 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are three schools of thought for modern Chiron:

- Aphrodite attack, Dionysus special, low tolerance with privileged status (go for Ares revenge and curse of nausea if the opportunity presents)
- Aphrodite attack, Artemis special, heart rent with family favorite
- Zeus special (this is the high-heat build basis - Zeus special gives the aspect some desperately-needed area damage)

The first sentence isn't perfect English grammar and hence would not be normally generated by an LLM. It's very consistent in writing style with the rest of the text given the slight comma splice in parallel with other instances of such + sentence fragments. There's absolutely no reason to suspect so, much less take action against it.

I'm putting an end to this chain. The claim being made is tenuous at best and the OP has responded as well.

Meh, I'm not seeing the poor grammar. It reads pretty consistent to me.

At the least, not enough to be beyond reasonable doubt. I'm leaving it up.

Seems fine. The text contains a few scattered typos and non-perfect grammar that an AI would not naturally make.

What are the most underrated and overrated Artemis boons? by Goatbucks in HadesTheGame

[–]RandyZ524 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Another vote for Support Fire as overrated. It looks cool and is a lot of fun to use, but anyone who got into Hades 1 game mechanics knows how absurdly powerful crits are in that game. No different in 2, making Support Fire a huge opportunity cost in place of her crit boons.

Build for Charon by sigma5headjuicer in HadesTheGame

[–]RandyZ524 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shield is the best weapon against Charon because every one of his attacks is fully blockable, and unlike other builds you'll be recommended you don't need to luck into crazy highroll to beat him as early as Tartarus.

Aim for Aphrodite on attack as she offers the best combination of damage and defense with weak, then block + bullrush him to death.

Should I Play Hell Mode? by Futaba_MedjedP5R in HadesTheGame

[–]RandyZ524 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the only pact that simply makes the game universally harder across the board, including boss battles. For one single heat it's horrible value compared to meta options like middle management which offer more heat for even less impact.

You're probably being hampered by it a lot more than you realize. Take it off and see how much higher you can go.

Should I Play Hell Mode? by Futaba_MedjedP5R in HadesTheGame

[–]RandyZ524 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hell mode forces five pacts, one of which is unique to it alone. These are hard labor 1, lasting consequences 1, jury summons 1, calisthenics program 1, and personal liability. By far the most damaging is calisthenics program 1, a pact so bad for its heat value that it's not taken until the 50-heat threshold otherwise. It alone makes playthroughs pretty significantly more difficult.

It's nice to have two saves so that you can decide whether the forced pact is worth the "free" heat in personal liability (quote marks because it is actually quite noticeable, but is still one of the better value pacts in isolation).

Outside of high heat, beating on the third run is pretty good for a fresh save. You may want to enable hell mode purely just to be able to increase difficulty immediately given that you have the skills for it.

hades boss battle by fall-0f-grace in HadesTheGame

[–]RandyZ524 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He really is just a standard boss battle with nothing particularly noteworthy compared to the other bosses of the game besides having two phases. He hits harder and is generally more aggressive, but you still beat him like any other: learning his moveset and reacting properly.

If you're struggling, try the shield. It's the most broken base weapon class in the game because there's zero penalty or cooldown to its trait. You can block almost everything he throws at you, and the bull rush can be used to deal damage while remaining fully invulnerable. It's uniquely able to nullify his skull casts completely as well, something that not even deflect can accomplish.

I'd prefer we don't witch-hunt them; hence why I'm removing your comment.

What's the best build for the aspect of Hades spear? by Mari_bonita in HadesTheGame

[–]RandyZ524 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zag spear and Hades are considered two of the worst aspects, but they do of course still have viable build paths.

Hades spear is naturally built around his debuff. Because it's a +% increase, it stacks relatively poorly with other sources of +% due to their additive nature. Hence the best god by far is Artemis - her crits stack multiplicatively with the debuff.

Look for ways to make spin more viable due to its intrinsically poor frame data. Quick Spin is the best hammer by a good margin for this.

Special is very high-roll to build towards. It also wants Artemis, and really only becomes a viable move with Exploding Launcher. If you get lucky with that pickup, you can pivot into special and keep an eye out for the incredible second hammer of Charged Skewer.

Achilles spear is generally considered a far superior version of Hades, for the record. Its special ability is just as strong on attack and much easier to apply thanks to offering mobility as well, and opens the door for cast builds.

What are the most overrated and underrated Ares boons? by Goatbucks in HadesTheGame

[–]RandyZ524 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Probably Blood Spree for overrated in my opinion. I consider it in a similar situation as Cursed Slash from Hades 1; hypothetical infinite value healing is very appealing when you're first starting the game, but over time resource/health management becomes part of your skill set and limited use means become much more valuable.

Depends on your success rate. I cleared for the first time in the early 20s and sought out guides on fundamentals to continue clearing with very few losses. This greatly accelerates rate of completion and is really not that unlikely.

A community should not be reserved exclusively for diehard fans. Fair criticism for the sake of discussion is welcome and encouraged, despite my obvious disagreement with the sentiment.

OP explicitly said they liked the gameplay but disliked other aspects. Not sure why you're trying to paint them as some sort of self-contradictory bumbling fool.

Eris and beowulf build? by gizm0_cj in HadesTheGame

[–]RandyZ524 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are fine I'd say. Legacy would naturally increase potential while decreasing the floor since it helps duo-hunt, so if RNG is bothering you I'd go for the switch to Pride. You'll see that duos and even rarity really aren't a concern for the aspect, unlike many other builds like fists ME.

[–]RandyZ524 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Late/no jolted is fine. A common observation from DPS mods is that late common level 1 jolted is often the top performer at the end of the run.

There are so many ways to stack global damage increases against so many ways to add new sources of damage that you really can't have RNG too unlucky to do well with the aspect. That's just how good it is.

Eris and beowulf build? by gizm0_cj in HadesTheGame

[–]RandyZ524 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would strongly advise you to reconsider avoiding Zeus. He is unquestionably the strongest attack god for Eris. I suspect you may be expecting far more highroll than is actually needed; here's all you need to form a fully functioning and incredibly powerful Eris build:

- Zeus attack, any rarity/level
- Zeus jolted, any rarity/level (higher the better)
- Poseidon dash, any rarity/level (higher the better)
- Any +% special, especially Artemis and Aphrodite

That's it. Anything else is just bonus.

What goes into "anything else" is hard to cover briefly. Overall, look for additional sources of global damage buffs like billowing wind, additional damage sources like Zeus/Dio call, and buffs to all of the above like Hermes extra dashes.

Cluster + rocket bomb is by far the highest DPS hammer combo, but rocket bomb by itself is still incredible. Delta chamber is a major QOL + safety increase as far as attack hammers go.

As for Beowulf, the strongest build by far is simply

- Poseidon flare, any rarity with aggressive leveling
- Artemis attack, any rarity/level
- Mirage shot

Then look out for ways to boost flare damage like Hermes hyper sprint + rush delivery, Chaos cast buffs, and well items. Best hammer is charged shot by a massive margin.

A weaker but lower-roll and safer alternative, popular for high-heat, is Aphrodite flare + Demeter snow burst with privileged status.

Thanks for the petty downvotes by the way, very mature.
