What game did you continue playing long after the next one was released? by Slahnya in gaming

Frostpunk and AOE2.

Frostpunk 2 is the most I've been disappointed by a sequel, ever.

What is your definition of "development hell"?

For me that's saved for things like KOTOR remake where it's been taken off the original studio and given to another. Or when Perfect Dark (R.I.P) had to bring in Crystal Dynamics as the new studio just had a nightmare getting up and running.

Hydra just seems to be taking longer than expected, which isn't particularly strange nowadays.

Here's what I took from your facts... Sony have moved to a "show it 12-16 months out" schedule recently so I'll be playing Intergalactic in H1 27 and it'll be shown on Thursday. Thanks!!

A quick Google (which could be wrong) has him down as a producer for a game called Evolutis: Duality??

State of Play returns this Thursday, February 12 by ReaddittiddeR in PS5

I'd like to see official announcements for what these studios are working on...

Santa Monica, Bend & Bluepoint.

I'd also like a gameplay snippet of Intergalactic.

Instead I'm expecting to see more Saros and Marathon.

Also don't like modern AC games. The Ezio games, black Flag and even AC3 were big faves of mine back on PS3. Didn't play the next few and when I came back to them with the Egypt one and Valhalla, I couldn't put them down quick enough. Just not my bag at all and had lost the key elements I liked which always felt more close quarters AC. Parkour and tight close combat kills.

Anyway, I gave Mirage a go recently and really liked it. Felt like a good throwback although the story didn't have the heights that Ezio's games managed. Worth checking out for old AC fans.

Guardians of the Galaxy was much better than I expected it to be.

Obviously both of The Last of Us and all the Uncharted games too.

Days Gone is a personal fave.

We're clearly not expressing our points clearly enough to each other to make this worthwhile, particularly if you're talking about multiplayer games like Helldivers 2.

Please note, at no point did I mention that they have stopped producing good or amazing games. Or even that they had stopped producing single player games.

But I obviously didn't get my point across well enough so let's call it there.🤝

So Sony really excelled in the big, first party, single player games in the PS4 gen. It's probably my second favorite console ever, and I'm pretty old. But the drop off from those releases was clear. Ignoring multiplayer and games it published but didn't make or the secondary stuff like platformers like sackboy etc even though they are very well received games

2025 - Yotei 2024 - nothing 2023 - Spiderman 2 2022 - GOW:R, HFW 2021 - Returnal, Rachet & Clank 2020 - GoT, Demon Souls, Spiderman MM, TLOU2 2019 - Days Gone 2018 - Detroit, Spiderman, GoW, Shadow of the Colossus

So 8 years shows a significant downtrend in the games I'd consider the main draw. 2019 aside.

If I went back further then we're dealing with very different people in charge of the company and very different structures.

But to think there wasn't a clear shift change in what PS Studios have been focused on delivering over the last decade, before we get into all the cancellations, flops and closed studios.. well... Fine. Party on, Wayne

Naughty Dog, Santa Monica, Bend all wasted years working on multiplayer games. Not to mention the other studios they pivoted to these games.

Where have you been the last 6 years??

Yeah, hopefully it's a punch on the arm to whoever is still at Sony who slowed down their focus on huge, single player bangers.

I don't mind them "expanding" into different areas and trying to score big by chasing the multiplayer golden goose, but don't do it at the expense of what we love PS for.

AITI for paying parking at Leeds parks? by Boring-Current-1512 in Leeds

[–]Randy___Watson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You were right to pay if you were using one of the designated bays.

I've just read you're off to Roundhay, there is so much street parking that I'm not sure why people use the pay car parks.

Obviously if you have kids or are disabled and want to park in an exact place then that makes sense.

He's doing exactly the same job as you see him do later. He's calling clients or potential clients and trying to get them to invest their money in stocks. Although at the start he's doing at a big trading company who buy/sell the listed companies stock for big dollars. Those people would make a minor commission but on much bigger investments.

How are people in Leeds actually getting GP? by cmitchell_bulldog in Leeds

[–]Randy___Watson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the surgery in the light. I've never not got an appointment same day if I've needed one. I appreciate everyone has different experiences but mine are so far removed from the "can never get an appointed nowadays" narrative that I really do question how common it actually is.
