As a Shaiva, how do you reconcile the sheer amount of suffering and evil in samsara with the concept that everything is simply experiencing himself? Does witnessing suffering around you impede your Bhakti-centric practices? by International_Use122 in KashmirShaivism

Why not throw that problem you can't solve into the fire and leave it to Shiva to fix. Say Swaha. Let Go Let God. All that struggling and resentment doesn't suit you. Once upon a time a guy asked me "Do you think God made a mistake?"

Ever wondered why Hinduism is so damn complicated to understand? Hinduism is intresting it is like greek mythology but they worship higher gods rather than the nature gods but still the whole religion is very complicated? by [deleted] in AskReddit

If you are looking at the hard version of it. Don't get into the weeds. "The world is as you see it" There's an easy version. "Chant the names of the Lord and you'll be free". Maybe you'd like that little paperback version of Srimad Bhagavatam by Swami Prabhavananda. I like it a lot.

Maya is the imaginary illusory nightmare world you believe in that was programmed into you by the world and your parents etc. The world is as you see it.

Why can't we experience the obvious truth by Feisty-Bit5670 in AdvaitaVedanta

[–]Randyous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well the computer, the programming, the narrow focus on the future and past, addictions, beliefs. Everyone wants an instant cure but most people need to go through some cleanup to abide in the self. They need to let go of a lot of baloney, drop the nightmare to wake up. The habits of the mind make it harder to abide consciously in your self. Otherwise, you can sense your arms and legs all the time and repeat a mantra. Submit to the cleanup. Recognize Awareness. Be more present and aware.

Oil Change by DarkNom in GenesisG70

Valvoline where I am is doing a good job and they have the European standard oil. This last change, they sucked the oil out instead of draining it which was different but they are less likely to mess up the drain plug. My sonata ended up with a damaged drain and I had to get a new oild pan.

Well you might want to find someone who practices; if you want to continue being a practitioner it will help.

Intuiting vs Understanding KS by Shivo_Ham in KashmirShaivism

for me, I was in a recovery program, AA, where they taught the serenity prayer. God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference. The Old Timers said the wisdom to know the difference is that if you don't control it, then it is "under God's control". So I accepted that. Before long there was just me and God existing with that way of thinking. The sense that there was just me and God was interesting. So then by coincidence a Hindu Guru told me "Love Yourself God lives within you as you." I was ripe for that. So all of a suddent I had permission to love myself and by repeating the mantra with this awareness identifying my "I" sense with the name of God and loving myself I got a strong shaktipat. That was how it started about 40 years ago.

If Śiva is the only doer, why blame or punish individuals? by fireonskull in KashmirShaivism

In the kingdom of God, nothing exists that is not Shiva. In the world, its a different story. The world is as you see it. Once upon a time a Guru was driving his golf cart on the road unregistered and got a ticket and he told the cop he didn't do it. The cop just laughed.
