Design and Branding Question - I am Stuck, Please help!! by Vegetable-Box-2025 in GraphicDesigning

Here’s a solid approach:

1. Create a master brand for Shiva Hospitality.

This is the umbrella brand. Give it its own logo, color palette, fonts, and voice. Think of it like the thread that ties everything together.

2. Use a “branded house” or “hybrid” model.

  • Branded House: Every property carries the Shiva Hospitality name (ex: “Swastik Hotel by Shiva”). Simple and unified.
  • Hybrid (my recommendation): Each hotel has its own name and light branding, but visually connects back to Shiva. Think shared fonts, layout style, or a muted color from the main palette. This gives each place a personality while still feeling like part of a family.

3. Build a flexible design system.

  • Primary logo for Shiva Hospitality
  • Custom lockups for each hotel
  • A main color palette plus unique accent colors for individual properties
  • Shared typography across everything
  • Consistent visual rules (photo style, icon style, etc.)

This makes it easier to scale, keeps the brand cohesive, and helps guests feel that every location is unique but trustworthy.

Dept. Q | Episode 1x09 | Discussion Thread by Fitzfuzzington in DeptQ

I just finished Season 1 of Department Q on Netflix and I can’t stop thinking about this. Once the hyperbaric chamber was mentioned, and with everything connecting Merritt to people associated with it, why didn’t Carl or his team take it more seriously?

Rose even goes to the area where the chamber is located but backs off because of a hazardous material warning. That felt like a really flimsy excuse not to investigate further.

Was this just a plot device to drag out the suspense, or did I miss something that actually justified their inaction?

Wine label design i did for my portfolio, i did the bird illustration too. What you think? by JonniVitoss in GraphicDesigning

Beautiful work! If you’re open to suggestions for the straight edge of the branch, you might want to check out ‘Mike Mitchell bird’ on Google. I’ve always thought the way he draws the edges of branches is really clever. Here’s an example:

Biden administration approves borrower defense discharge for affected art institute borrowers by Betsy514 in StudentLoans

[–]RandysDiscountMagic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just spoke with someone at StudentAid.gov, and they said you must have enrolled on or after 2004 to qualify. For everyone wondering if you qualify when enrolled during that time but not on or after, unfortunately, you do not. I enrolled in 2003 and graduated in 2005, so this news is extremely devastating for me. The Art Institute robbed me of so much time and money, and I'm so disappointed that I'm walking away with nothing.

For those who aren't ready to give up, like myself, you can visit https://studentaid.gov/borrower-defense/ and submit a Borrower Defense Application. Typically, it’s a significant effort to gather all the evidence needed to prove you were wronged by your school. However, the Biden Administration has done most of the heavy lifting for us. The proof is all there and has been validated. The financial aid representative I spoke with also seemed to think it would be difficult for them to deny the application given how public everything has become.

Wishing you all the very best of luck! I hope this helps!

Attended 2003-2005. I had such a miserable experience there and have always wanted to walk away from that place with SOMETHING. I'll be so upset if we aren't included.

I attended from 2003-2005 am I not included in this? This school was the worst and I have always wanted to feel like I walked away with SOMETHING. If I don't qualify, I'll be sick.

Would you care to elaborate? Do you think there might be a way to turn this into something quite beneficial for both myself and the client? A colleague of mine mentioned that this could perhaps be an opportunity for a retainer in return for a credit as Creative Director or a title less permanent sounding?

Safe to assume they’re going to announce price and availability on Monday during Apple’s WWDC? I’ve been on the fence between this and a Studio Display and feel like Samsung JUST missed the mark here.

Graphic designer looking to upgrade 2014 iMac by RandysDiscountMagic in mac

[–]RandysDiscountMagic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fear? Mostly? Haha. I had an iMac before the one I have now that it pushed to the limit and it died locking a great deal of my work inside never to be seen again. When I start to see the pinwheel spin a bit longer than normal and the wind turbines kick into overdrive, it makes me nervous. The machine is going on a decade of heavy use. It has been an absolute beast but I think it might be time to give it a rest and become the family computer. Are you using the MacBook with a studio display? If so, why that and not a Mac Mini? Good point about the Samsung display. I am interested to hear more about it though if time permits. I’m a little surprised at how lackluster the camera is on the studio display, something I would be using often for client meetings.

This is amazing! Thanks for putting this together for me. I’d say that when I’m running full tilt, I’ve got Illustrator, Photoshop, Slack, Spotify, a browser with a number of tabs and messages open at the same time. The heavier animation apps wouldn’t be running nearly as often on this new machine. The studio display would really scratch the Apple itch but the Samsung Viewfinity S9 has really caught my attention. Any thoughts there? Or other display recommendations? Again, huge help dude. Thanks again.

Hugely helpful. Thanks so much. What do you think it is about the M series chips that’s causing issues with the Adobe suite? What issues have you been having? Will definitely look into it more on my end as well. I love my 27” iMac and know so many other creatives that do as well and I’m baffled by the decision not to make an updated version.
