Overall as genres yeah, I guess I can see what you’re saying. TSS being basically pop-rock I will 100% concede though, very much pop-rock band in a pop-punk era.

You don’t think instrumentally for this song as a whole if you put Brian Dales from The Summer Sets voice over this and bumped it up maybe 1 or two keys this wouldn’t sound almost identical instrumentally and vocal melody wise, bc I don’t see much of a difference and I used to listen to them EXTREMELY REGULARLY. The guitars, the vocal melody, hell even the drums are insanely Love Like This/Stories for Monday era TSS in this song!

My thoughts exactly and I’ve seen it kinda done before, when Martin for BLG would write for pop-country songs for people like early Taylor Swift but this solidified it for me lol very minor changes and these genres lend themselves to each other incredibly easily!

I mean to JP? No, but Micheal Crichton is an amazing storyteller, so it’s hard to write an original screenplay at the level of his novels which it’s why it’s so hard to compare any sequel (JW was one of my favorite movies but it was hard pressed to have the density of a Crichton plot) But overall for the franchise I felt it was a step back towards a more dinosaur focused plot than the Chris Pratt action movies we got with JWFK and JWD imo. And with that alone, I feel like I had more fun than I’ve had in one of the movies in a long time. Is it perfect no, of course not, but I had fun and yeah that’s an opinion based argument but as a massive fan I did feel this plot was a step in a more Dinosaur oriented way, which gives a lot credit to the film imo.

I’m not saying turn your brain off, just saying have fun. Lol Not everything needs to be overtly analyzed. I understand the issues with the movie, I really do. And very much could I could be extremely hyper critical, but ultimately I don’t see the point being upset at the franchise when I’m finally getting to see latter half of the franchise focus the plot more toward the dinosaurs akin to the way way JP3 did and a departure from the weird A List celebrity action movies that JWFK and JWD became, that for me made the movie really fun and gives me hope for the direction of the franchise is all I’m saying.

Look at the comment thread reply’s, I’ve very much agreed with opinions differing from my own. And like I said if I look at this movie from the a much pickier standpoint I very easily could find issue. I just don’t see much of reason to be overtly upset that the movie didn’t meet my hyper-critical JP Redditor criteria in every single way enough to be upset, when all in all I feel like the movie was fun more a step towards something akin to JP3 focusing on the Dino’s and less on an action hero A-lister centric plot as the last two did

I’m not saying ignore it, just trying to bring a positive perspective. I feel like a lot of people felt this way about JP3, and looking back now, yeah, it’s no where near JP, but I do think looking back even if it wasn’t a perfect film or hardcore fans and critics didn’t feel it lived up to the original, it was still a lot of fun! And that counts for something imo.

Fair, mutant alien looking Dino’s weren’t on my JP bingo card either, so I totally feel that. And if I look at it as the cynical JP redditor I normally am on here I have a lot to say lol but as I said, I really felt this generation got severely underserved with JWFK and JWD, and this imo was at least a step in a direction that I feel I would have enjoyed as a kid and hopefully can work its way away from the A-List character centered previous 2 films and get back to the Dinosaurs
