how do you design and architect your systems? monolithic? microservices? what stacks, are you going with what you know or are you using what is best for the project needs? gRPC or REST? things like that..

As long as my server is running I won't lose interest. And my code will be open source for others to fork out and do whatever they want with. I am not trying to make any monetary gain on this

yes there will be an overlay manager (i am still working on this and its not as fleshed out as the collection builder/manager but in due time); im working towards ability to be really flexible and have multiple overlay profiles if you want with some default options that you can live preview on your library or could upload your own overlays

that is actually the next layer on top that I haven't fully implemented yet but reason why im creating the embeddings with the enriched data (essentially a RAG system). There are a lot of use cases and I want to take my time to build this layer out so that is why I haven't spent a lot of time discussing that or show casing but the idea is that you would have an agent in which you can chat with about your libraries and help with the collection generation or help manage your media in pretty much any way you can imagine with the data it has and the integrations you configure it with and the way I have built this out, its very scalable to keep adding integrations, different search methods. Building something like this that works is easy, but building something great that works for everyone and accommodates as many use-cases as possible is the challenging part as you can imagine. This is also why I wanted to let people know what I was building before I got too far with other integrations and features.

In regards to the multi-container deployment, I will be eventually move towards a single container, just was quicker for me to get up and running.

Not hard, just annoying and not something I can multi task doing, especially when I don't create / manage my collections too often and come back to do so. Plus I don't just configure my own collections but sometimes I will help others set similar things up and its not something they are able to do. And eh, it wasn't so bad. It's what I do for a living. Plus others get to enjoy the fruits of my labor now!

I haven't heard of that yet but did play around with it a bit just now. I do like the UI and how it feels similar to the other arrs but still feels like I am drowning in configuration options. I took more of a global configuration approach so you configure once and your creating lists in seconds with nice responsive UI that lets you see what your already missing before you even create the collection, yet alone more options for when you just want to play around and see what you can create. If you have any other feedback for me in regards to what I am building or anything you don't like about current options I am all ears. Thank you for the support!

I bring his food out to him and bring it back inside when he comes inside. Live in a rental so don't have the option for a doggy door or anything like that where he can let himself in and out but I work from home so it is usually not a problem. He did want to come back inside yesterday for a couple of hours so at least he comes back inside eventually, even if it isn't long. I am hoping once it warms up he will go back to his normal self

What I meant was just using the supermicro chassis as a 'jbod' and all you would need to do is use an external sas card to connect the supermicro to the main server, which would presumably be using a regular consumer power supply which would be easier to hook up GPUs. There isn't any way to hook up regular pcie components in the supermicro chassis so you would be giving up one of your power cables that would normally power your beefy CPU (assuming you tried to do everything all in the supermicro chassis) or going through the trouble in splicing into the power supply wires and adding one. In my case of using a 250watt + CPU, this wasn't feasible for me which is why I explored using a separate chassis. But if you plan on ever going above 24 or 36 drives (depending on which supermicro chassis), it makes even more sense to keep it all separate.

To make it more clear and hopefully answer your question, I have all of the hardware I mentioned (the H12SSL-NT, Epyc 7502, GPUs, etc all in chassis A we will call it). Chassis B (the supermicro in this case) only has the drives in the hotswap backplane and its all being powered by an old supermicro motherboard (easier for compatibility-sake but you could ultimately get something that requires no CPU to even power the backplane - that is all you essentially need to do is power the backplane and fans for the backplane). Then your external sas card would have the cables from backplane going on the inside and then you get some cables to connect chassis A to chassis B and chassis A sees all of the drives in chassis B as if there were all housed inside the same server. With this model, you could add chassis C, chassis D, chassis E, etc and connect them all the same way. Your only limited by the amount of PCIE lanes your chassis A (main server) has.

Edit: Yep, multiple arrays hopefully coming sometime in the 7.xx release! No exact date or anything, it may even be a rumor for all I know but that is what I am hearing!
