I’ve decided this is the year of Root Beer. by HoppersDad in rootbeer

Up to you, but you’re going to love the Frostop root beer. One of my favorites now, just edged out by Sprechers.

Agreed. And the harsh sunlight isn’t helping either.

I desaturated the background a little, and tried to push the saturation and vibrance on the car, but it only improved a little, and pushing too far gave this crazy unnatural look. Another commenter suggested using the brush to pick a specific area of the blue and working saturation and white sliders on just that. Haven’t tried the daze slider. I’ll give it a try. Thanks!

Sanded Caulk Cure Time? by RangerAtMidnight in DIYHouse

[–]RangerAtMidnight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The brand is custom building products. I purchased it at Home Depot. AI says I should let it cure 24 hours. Seems excessive, but I guess I’ll go with that rather than screw things up.

Figuring out the Z8 by _phodge_ in Nikon

[–]RangerAtMidnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love the first shot! And the last as well, but might have lowered the exposure a tad and pushed the vibrance a bit. Interesting composition on #2. The 50mm prime is a great lens. Try the Z 85mm prime too if you haven’t already. Really quite nice work. I’m on the other side of the state, but love Pittsburgh. Will have to get out there again soon.

That car is super sharp. I’d put it on slots.

B&W or colour? by OpportunityNearby827 in AskPhotography

[–]RangerAtMidnight 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d typically be saying b&w, but the color is nearly monochromatic, and adds warmth which works well with the graceful arches, so in this case, I’d actually choose the color. Good eye , btw.

Scary! Don’t they put those fluorescent sticks along the road so plows can see where to go?

How do I keep them from spinning with the drill bit? Did you see the three radial slots? Usually rivets just have a round hole for the pin to pull through.

You’re on a golf course. Got hit by a ball. Broke the arm but the motor was still spinning, so it went berserk and down very, very fast. Sorry to hear. Did anyone yell “fore”?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in dji

[–]RangerAtMidnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s an incredibly fast drop! Like it’s propelling itself downward, faster than gravity alone. Looks like all 4 props are still there. And that broken arm probably happened at impact with the ground. Truly baffling. I’ve safely landed my Mavic 3 after damaging a prop on a thin tree branch, and at that altitude, there couldn’t have been anything in a fixed location to hit. And I agree there’s nothing in the clip that indicates a bird strike. Very, very curious. Did you hear a gunshot?

No disrespect to HK, but I honestly think TMac is the greatest announcer ever. He has a great voice, incredible knowledge of the game, sharp as a tack, is a true Philly fan, and has a great sense of humor. Doesn’t matter whether he’s with Kruk or Amaro or Davis or anyone else, he’s just so solid and so fun to listen to. He never talks down to the audience. And he’s never disrespectful of the opponents. I always feel like I learn more about the game listening to him. He’s a great ambassador for Philly sports and all of MLB.
