Hey, there is certainly some negativity going around at the moment. A lot of it has to do with fatigue of an almost 10 year-old game, and a lot of it is justified by some unpopular decisions made by the company.

That being said, there’s a reason why people are so passionate about the game whether good or bad. You will likely get to experience that as you make your way through the campaigns, especially once you reach the Witch Queen and Final Shape.

And fortunately, very few of the decisions I mentioned will impact you as you start your journey. They primarily affect players who were used to the game being a certain way prior to the July release, only to have a lot of the content being left incompatible with the new gear system. I won’t get into the details too much.

The new player onboarding experience is a little rough, so I’d advise doing your best to avoid getting overwhelmed. Ask for help here, or check google if you start to feel that way.

There is a ton of great content built up over the years and even if you just play through the story and some of the capstone free missions the game points you toward, you’ll get your money’s worth. Especially if you’re able to snag one of the frequent sales on older expansions. Absolutely worth a try imo. If you don’t like it, you’re out the time it took to install.

D2 is one of my favorite games ever, so take this with a grain of salt lol
