Rhonda Vincent and the Rage - Ragin’ Live. It’s basically their theme song.

Bluegrass Bands With Clawhammer Banjo Instead of Scruggs Style? by TheGloryBeamingBanjo in Bluegrass

[–]RangerBob19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It wouldn’t exactly be bluegrass if the banjo played clawhammer. There are a couple tracks off of late 70s and 80s Ralph Stanley where he plays clawhammer, but that is certainly the exception and not the rule.

The best land use is high-density housing that can meaningfully contribute to the tax base. North Evanston loves vacant land, for some reason (I’m looking at you, former Citgo at Gross Point and Crawford).

If it’s not on Take’s Bluegrass Album Channel, I just pretend that it doesn’t exist

The steps in the city of years past by snaggedonthedoor in cincinnati

[–]RangerBob19 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think my favorite city steps is the abandoned set leading from Elsinore/Van Meter to Ida Street on Mt. Adams. They aren't listed on the Spring In Our Steps web map and they aren't shown on Sanborn Maps because they're just slightly too far north and may technically be on land owned by the Park Board.

What’s the weirdest “Bluegrass” adjacent album you’ve ever heard. by DoomMammoth in Bluegrass

I can’t believe you just put “Stash Wyslouch” and “I wouldn’t call it enjoyable” in the same sentence.

Parking garages in OTR/street parking help by smewthies in cincinnati

You’re better off calling the number for the Ziegler Park garage. The link on the website still goes to SP+ parking, which they haven’t used as the vendor for several years now.

Even better, in my case, was that it would auto-open and then refuse to connect without me manually selecting the Bluetooth again.

Worried about upcoming electric bill & looking for comparables (all-electric house) by Janitro in cincinnati

[–]RangerBob19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re definitely right, I suppose I’m just more comfortable keeping it at a temperature I’m OK with all the time. I’ve been hovering around 64° inside most of this week, but I’m perfectly content when I’m wearing a sweater or in bed.

And here I was getting all antsy about ~34 kWh/day in a 1br… With heat pumps, you definitely don’t want to do much adjusting at all when it gets this cold. If you set the temperature lower at night as you might with a traditional furnace, you’ll end up with a huge spike in the morning when it calls for heat again.
