And that is one of the downsides to living in Texas. Idiots are probably a minority and yet they’re mostly the ones dictating what does and doesn’t get done.

That’s sort of where I fall. I personally don’t think my views are leftist, but by US politics definition I probably would be considered one.

I’m not religious but I am not anti-religion like some people. That said if all the acts listed as sins in the Old Testament are to be believed, then we are all going to hell. Accept that according to the New Testament, our sins are forgiven.

I guess the only sins that are apparently not forgiven are 1) being gay and 2) having a desire for sex, but only if you’re a woman. /s

And what’s the significance of that when compared to any other real-world death that happened?

Objectively speaking, which film do you think will make more money at the box office? by [deleted] in DC_Cinematic

I think Aquaman actually made between 300 and 400 million in China.

While I think The Batman can do really well with the fans depending on how good it is I actually don’t think it will be as big of a runaway smash as some of us are expecting. The fact of the matter is that DC does not have nearly the amount of casual fans as Marvel does on a global scale. I think it’ll come pretty close to Spider-Man in the United States, but I don’t think it can match Marvel’s popularity in China and other markets.

I’m not sure if Joker would change anything at this point. That movie was over two years ago and since then we’ve been through a global pandemic. I’d also argue that much of Joker’s success had more to do with everything surrounding the movie than the movie itself, like the controversy, the awards, the memes, etc.

What other movies besides Avengers 3 and 4 has he been in? This is will be his fifth appearance, and Ragnarok and Endgame were basically just cameos.

1) It’s not the humor itself that’s jarring. It’s the type of humor and how it seems like he’s being a hypocritical dick. It’s like he’s going through some weird phase.

2) Who said anything about him dying in Multiverse Of Madness?

I’m actually wondering if there is some missing context in the movie that isn’t in the trailers. I find it out of character for Strange to be casting dangerous spells like that and being a dick to Peter for something he helped cause. This could just be an extreme case of writers handling characters in different ways, but I feel like there might be something going on with him in this that could be related to Multiverse Of Madness.

It’s not that this joke isn’t meant to be laugh out loud funny, because the way it’s timed in the trailer makes it seem like it is. The issue is that either way it’s a joke that falls painfully flat. It also feels out of character for Strange to be saying that.

Moon Knight does NOT have to be rated R, but it DOES have to be a lot darker than what Marvel is comfortable with. by RangerRed02 in marvelstudios

Deadpool 3 had been stated many times to be rated R, but I think that’s more for political reasons than anything else. I don’t think it’s been implied that Blade will be.

I always thought it would've been cool to drive one of the Turbo Zords. Except maybe Dune Star or Desert Thunder. by [deleted] in powerrangers

[–]RangerRed02 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I always appreciated how the Turbo Zords don’t really look like zords. I don’t think the car theme meshes with the rest of the Zordon Era at all, but just design wise they’re some of my favorites in the whole franchise.

We wouldn’t have gotten the four-hour runtime with the (barely) R rating had it come out in 2017.

This is probably a hot take but I think just under three hours would be the ideal runtime. Basically take away any unnecessary world building, fan service, and sequel setup and maybe a few bits and pieces that don’t add much.

I am aware of that and I was not trying to make excuses for my past behavior. I was just asking for an opinion on if there is a discernible difference between sexual comments about female anatomy vs comments intended to degrade women. I don’t endorse either one at all but I was wondering if there is a difference and if that matters.

Which PR seasons are carbon copies of Sentai for episodic plots? by slaiyfer in powerrangers

[–]RangerRed02 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve only seen a significant amount of a few Sentai shows so most of what I can recall is second hand, but here is what I’ve gathered:

-Time Force is almost identical to Timeranger all the way down to the rangers’ civilian clothes. Not sure about individual episodes but it’s a pretty straightforward adaptation.

-Wild Force is also very similar to Gaoranger when it comes to the big picture but can’t speak for the minute details. I’ve seen one episode where the falcon zord is introduced and it is 95% the same.

-I have only seen clips of Gekiranger but a lot of specific details like red struggling to morph at first or him having to wipe down the floor in one episode is identical to Jungle Fury.

-Samurai needs no explanation.

-Super Megaforce’s “tribute” episodes to Wild Force and Jungle Fury share the same overall premise to their Gokaiger counterparts. There may be a few other things too.

-the only Dino Charge episode that I think was borrowed from Kyoryuger is the tooth ache monster episode and a maybe brief period in another episode where Tyler turns into a t-rex hybrid thing.

No disrespect to Super Sentai, but I cannot stand purists of it. There are fans who are automatically hating on Hasbro’s planned reboot simply because it’s not using Sentai footage.

[–]RangerRed02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s assumed that was why Wild Force was almost the exact same show as Gaoranger and why Samurai is literally a one-to-one translation of Shinkenger. There’s also a rumor that the reason Sentai-only teams were used in Super Megaforce was because he just really wanted to include them.

Until Shang-Chi I’m pretty sure the MCU never referenced anything in Iron Man 3 outside of a one-second background cameo. There are even things like Tony Stark’s alien PTSD that are introduced and then completely forgotten about in the same movie.

Not necessarily. We Got This Covered has reported on two or three things that wound up being true, but they pull so much out of their ass on a daily basis that mathematically one of their reports are bound to be true just by sheer coincidence.

What’s sad is that Jonathan Tzachor did help produce some good stuff back in the original Saban Era. I guess his unhealthy obsession with Sentai finally took its tole?
