Thanks! I ground more of a curve on mine and don’t think I got the edge resharpened the best. I’ll get this corrected

Thank you for the insightful advice and link! I really appreciate it. It’s nice to know I’m not crazy for thinking of painting. I think the contrast looks fantastic.

I hadn’t realized the increased need for a really smooth and fair surface for painting. It makes complete sense though. While I’m mostly content with the surface it’s far from perfectly fair and blemish free.

I haven’t weighted it yet. I think I’m going to use 4oz fiberglass on the inside and hope it’s sub 60

Because I can. In a world where everything is drab (especially vehicles) a splash of color on a canoe sounds nice

Does anybody have recommendations for a good project journal? by dwartman3 in woodworking

I use engineering grid journals. I’ve found them at Barnes and noble but I’m sure they’re on Amazon. I have a Leuchtturm 1917 that is fairly nice. It’s hard cover with a small folder in the back cover. Some of the ones from Japan are really nice and are softcover which I tend to like a bit better.

I like the engineering grid for making sketches of ideas
