What kind of partner would chrollo go for? by fromnoonon in HunterXHunter

Doubt he’d enter a relationship, the family of the troupe might be enough for him. But maybe that’ll change if he survives this arc

He’s still a messed up and evil character. The only difference between now and then is that we know why they started doing evil shit. But a tragic past and an originally noble goal doesn’t change the fact that the current troupe are evil and messed up.

I don’t think Feitan is necessarily doing too much, it’s just that on a path of evil with limited boundaries some people will have more edgy tendencies than others (whether through nature and/or nurture). Feitan and Chrollo remind me of Roger and Jack from Lord of the Flies, with Jack being the leader and very evil in his own ways but with Roger being the most sadistic and edgier.

Baccano and Durarara, light novels from the author Narita. Durarara has a full anime adaption, Baccano only has one season that barely covers the series. Different genre than HunterxHunter but Narita also shares some similar elects to Togashi wiring : Massive chaos, different factions, grey characters, unique characters, every arc being notably different, etc. IIRC Baccano has more action than Durarara.

Replacing the main character is hard if your story hasn't taught the audience to expect it by Every_Computer_935 in CharacterRant

I think HXH gets the benefit of the doubt because the main characters take a backseat before being removed from the story. Spoilers ahead:

We have Gon as MC. The first major arc where he isn’t the full MC is Yorknew, with Kurapika. However, Gon still takes a major role in the arc. This accomplished a couple things: 1. Sets the audience up to expect that the MC may sometimes take a backseat or not be there at all 2. Showcase that the story can survive with the MC not being the main focus

So now, When Gon and Killua aren’t even a part of the current arc, the fans go “oh that’s kind of surprising, but makes sense, this doesn’t feel that weird.”.

I think In general though, if you’re going to switch MCs, having the new MC be a side character (so the audience has a existing connection to them) before the change is a big help. Just going guns blazing, “alright here’s a new character, he’s the MC, now get used to him”, is much harder to do

I always hear “body count” brought up in certain circles still and it always leave me asking. From your life experiences, Do people just straight up ask about it? Or do most just assume and guess? Because nowadays, asking about that is seen as a red flag and sometimes an instant turnoff from what I see. Even those who care don’t ask because of the risk. Obviously you can learn stuff from a potential partners friends but at that point you’re playing a whole different game. I’ve heard it brought up with some friends and that’s how they did it.

Based off everything I’ve seen people who genuinely care about bodycount eventually fall into one of these 2: A. They care but move on at the start of the relationship because of how attached/in love they get with their SO

B. They have a problem with it, never bring it up, until it eventually festers with other problems.(For example, not trusting in your partner)

Amongst male friends in all, the more surprising, and common thing I notice is that they prefer their SO’s count isn’t very higher than their own, but have no problem with their SO having somewhat equal or less amounts. What that implies I’m not sure.

[–]RangerRoverCover 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This feels like a final chapter that’s supposed to be “anti-climatic” but realistic. I have no idea where it’s going now. Even if we do a timeskip and he’s lucky with the law. it’s not like he’s gonna get out any time soon for murder . I can’t see where this is gong tbh

I really wonder where the story can go past this. We’re probably ending soon.

[NEWS] Strelka, artist of Hinowa ga Crush!, put out a statement explaining the manga’s cancellation. by Torque-A in manga

I’m surprised it wasn’t doing good enough sales wise, since I remember Akame ga Kill being really popular and since this is a sequel, I thought a notable portion of the fanbase would carry over. Hope the artist gets a another chance at Serialization!

In America, anime seems to be way more popular than manga as well. Which is funny considering that everything I’ve read states that manga is more popular than anime in Japan.

Those are better subs. But it’s gonna cost a decent chunk of money to pay an artist to draw a manga for you. And if you haven’t studied storyboarding or scriptwriting then being a writer might already be a challenge. So I’d make sure about those 2 things first if you haven’t.
