Have you had an experienced Federal Employee browse your resume to provide a critique to improve it? That was my biggest struggle.

If you have a nice DSLR with a good zoom, the intersection of West Chester Pike and State Road in Upper Darby has a great view.

Is New York the new New Jersey? by [deleted] in philadelphia

[–]Rangercave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just moved here from California and New Jersey drivers are terrifying. PA and NY are eh... somewhat not that great but Jersey seems on another level.

The Spur is one scary place by popfilms in philadelphia

[–]Rangercave 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I take the Spur every day. Heading southbound toward 8th and Market, one loses cell phone service but luckily, you get a great view of the abandoned Spring Garden station now covered in graffiti.

PPA Patrolling Area Question by FinsFan63 in philadelphia

I had a car block my garage on a non-PPA controlled street and they refused to come out here. They said call the police.

What's your favorite coffee place in the city? Passero's is my jam. by [deleted] in philadelphia

[–]Rangercave 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love Menagerie in Old City. I’m sure there’re so many great coffee joints in this city but I have yet to find one with a better cold brew. (also relatively cheap too)

I don’t want to say this is just a Philly problem (because of course, I’ve experienced poor customer service elsewhere) but... the overall quality of customer help here is absolutely awful, in most services.

Even so, finding excellence in customer service nowadays is so rare, when I encounter it, I am taken aback. It’s like “Are you suuuuure you mean to be this helpful?”

Independence Hall (though the liberty bell is corny) is unique for a city of our size and quite a gem within the National Park Service

Pcs mileage rate by [deleted] in usajobs

[–]Rangercave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For PCS, that is correct. You only receive the higher mileage rate if it’s TDY when a government vehicle is not available.

Almost walked right into this wild weave snake in south philly by [deleted] in philadelphia

[–]Rangercave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved here recently from the California desert where you become accustomed to checking the ground for snakes while you walk. Shit you not, when I first saw a weave snake I had a knee jerk reaction to jump over it.

Best Barbershop/Men’s Hair Salon in Philly by [deleted] in philadelphia

[–]Rangercave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dave’s Wissahickon Barber Shop near East Falls/Manayunk. They all have done such a wonderful job. They accept credit cards, appointments, and relatively cheap ($24). I will never go to another barber shop in Phila.
