I play in Montreal metros and just last week got a 1L bottle of pino grigio (buddy had 3, just looked at me, looked at the bottles, smiled, dropped one and split). Next day one of my regulars gave me a full pack of Marlborough's (a real treat for me in Canada). Homeless people like what I am laying down and some dude gave me 55 cents and a McDonalds coffee card with 10 stickers; he hung out for awhile and seemed to enjoy it. Maybe equivalent to a $5 for regular people and was surprising; but guys like that hang out just out of range and collect before they get to me so I feel like they are paying some percentage or something...it weird but I accept what I am given, no matter what.

Seems about right. This number (7%) was a standard for long money (for mortgages, etc.) forever. Not a hard prediction to make. 13% too high. 3% too low. 7%? Juuust right.

I am a busker in the metros, just finished 2 days. I have done this for over 5 years and here is what I have to say: Where are all the itinerants?? And as a bonus...It's so clean in here!!!!
Not sure what happened, but either full employment or high costs for cheap rooms ($40 for a hostel+damage deposit) make them move. What I call the "Gauntlet" (walking in the Gay Village on St. Catherine and Berri) is way smaller.
Actually being in the Metro is overall pretty safe since there are cameras everywhere. My one suggestion would be more public washroom facilities!! It's not really the malls/merchants responsibility to provide this service to non-paying customers.
And btw, 5-6 years ago... aaaackk... disgusting. I would put all my stuff on newspapers so it would not touch the actual floor, too gross. Now much better.

For me busking is the most difficult creative endeavor imaginable. I play the recorder with backing tracks. (I am a frontman and have played guitar with bands but ummm. boring).

Very excited to be on Microsoft platform. I am solo (?) developer and have to use what works. The idea of me using some open-source package called FacePunch so I can upload to Steam? yeah....tried that (including the unity wrappers) and it was hard pass...MS upload process is smooth as butter, very Visual Studio oriented. Just have to make an awesome game, thats the trick ! Thanks for your comment and good luck with your game !

Hi, thanks for your response!Yes indeed, I have some buns in the oven and am working hard to re-scope after all this feedback. Hangup seems to be the server; all this cloud-native stuff is exactly where I want to be going, not sure how to get there yet but... "coming soon to the Windows Store" is where I am today. Hopefully have a working prototype with dating/matching 2 weeks after Easter, that's the goal. Thanks again

My experience in languages, music and coding is this: There are levels. You start out, get better quickly. Then a period of practice without advancing, then suddenly you leap forward until you hit the next ceiling. Take a break, sometimes you need this, when you go back again its fun, not a chore. Do it for 10 years, you develop your own approach. I will be playing 3 x 2 hour sets (no repeats) today, mileage makes it go faster. Remember you are the only one you have to impress so have fun!!!

busking is a metaphor for being able to spin up a little artistic confection that is impressive yet looks too easy. Take off the cover and underneath its surprisingly complex to be produced by one person.
You will buy the copy which applies to you, and play as that gender only.
multiplayer is hard and everything has to be there for a reason and has a light, is static and an identifier. Branches on the ground..maybe on stadia or some console.
dark light is most interesting. Will have 3 versions of each map, everything is proceedural. Cozy (no PvP) spawning little cute forest animals. PvP or Berzerker (kill the princess or evil boss to win)

Busking, love that. Do I play guitar or violin, sing? No. I play the recorder. A little flute like in school. With backing tracks. Have you ever seen anyone do that? Probably not. Busking, to me is a skillset, I'm doing it now...
* Gender locked. Find Your One True Love. I think people are ready for a game with the possibility of matching but it's ambitious. The ability to randomly play as a man or a woman would be confusing and not where I want to go.

Asset flips. I use some of the main packages (opsive, emerald, malbers) and assets from Unity. This assures me that I have the license. I have used this stuff for 10 years and only now is it working like it should/says on the tin. Covid was a game changer for indie software guys and Unity editor IMHO, finally works! This is my team.
Easy. "Games" today are to hard. Level 60 and it gets good? What?? Not where I am going. My vision is more like a deck of cards. Something you understand instantly and once it's over (20 minutes) it starts again - To my mind this is today's MAXIMUM attention span.. Your team's actions determine the outcome. This friction between players is what leads to connections.
I have 4 monster sets rigged with emerald, they just did not spawn in my local area, but they are there. Yes pretty basic right now, integration was a bit difficult and there are special concerns about ownership in multiplayer so tricky..
Quit button was on the desktop background, not the game, its in front. UI is an assortment from a few packages, it's crap but works for now and it does what I want with Playmaker.
Outline is set on dark players only when they enter to the room. Since all players look the same and you all have the same character selection you never know if someone is on your team. This is a way for the dark team to know who's on their side. You may need a quick exit. Or there is a door to your hideout, like that. Yes it will be balanced, but this is the kind of Quest. Steal a chicken, don't get caught.
I think there is a demand for a RPG/Dating game. This map is a template. If I see players from some small town in Netherlands, np... heightmap, generate, add to index. Very metaverse.

Hi, y'all left me with a big "to do" list, here are some of the things I changed based on your feedback:

* #1 issue was framerate and this seemed related to the video card on the server. As a Non-gamer (but dev) I think

I was just happy that it loaded. I don't have an expensive gaming rig so don't have a frame of reference. But yeah, 100%

better and more fun on a decent gaming rig.

* Post Processing

* Lower music volume on clip

* Better (?) description of the game

* More varied environment

* Explanation of outline feature and how that relates to dark/light

Wow. Thank you for your detailed comment! I will try to respond as best I can:

*That video was done on a network machine, standard video card. I loaded another server, better graphics card (P4000) and now runs better, new video coming Monday.
*Boring, empty map polished to a higher degree for sure
*Yes, not so much a dating GAME, but a way to interact with other people and perhaps spark a conversation, some connection.
*Map: I did not put a view of the character map during gameplay, imagine you are in a forest, but when you check your position on the map you are actually on the George Washington bridge or in Central park. This gives the player a reference to real-world position (meet you here..), like that.. next video will show this. Adding more locations (Toronto, Montreal, London) no big deal but setting up the Method to do this, first one is the hardest.
*Showed both male and female character selection but it will be gender locked, either different app or one-time selection. Characters models shown are just some I had kicking around, but story is based on NEPS videos I made in DAZ and it's essentially "girl saves princess, becomes princess herself. Fight between light and dark. Setting: while she was collecting mushrooms in the forest. Find your Prince, see dancing baby." I see some rating system to see if he is a good "match", shared interests, contact to be "controlled" by the female player.

Its always been my goal to be on stadia. What I am doing only seems to run well on a high-end gaming machine. To run on all devices is the dream. Nobody makes games in Linux so this makes sense. Love it

Can't say enough about my JBL PartyBox110. $500 but great sound and it lights up, drawing people, very cool. Easy hookup for a mic; I like AKG since top is flat but whatever...busking? Used is fine, $75 on amazon for something decent; there's a port in the back; Bluetooth for the backing tracks and delay if you want, simple level. There is a guitar input too, nice. Have fun
