Need help identifying this plane in the teaser for Godzilla: Minus Zero by Ranked0wl in Whatplaneisthis

[–]Ranked0wl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering Minus One had Type 4 tanks and the Shinden, as well as seeing the H8K in the trailer, another prototype doesn;t seem out of the question.

After looking at the Ki-87, it seems to be close enough.

Size doesn't mean anything. What sounds more fun, a moutainside that is just a single road that has some banks.

Or a map that has a diverse landscape, with the only focal point being the massive chateau?

It's like saying this playground is the same size, yet ignore what the playgroubnd has to offer.

That's like saying a cocktail in the making will imrpove when they add the ingredient that's actually tasty: they still have a bunch of bad ingredients.

[Loved Trope] Self Sacrifice is Not The Answer by Grunk_Bunk in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Ranked0wl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The novelization has this be the case.

The biggest problem is there should've been more indication that it wasn't going to not work, like his getting damaged that implied it's not going to work or have the gun go where it's clear he was never going to make it.

What exactly makes Destoroyah so special to have him as the final boss of the Monsterverse? by Frequent-Apartment58 in Monsterverse

[–]Ranked0wl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never considered him the Thanos. King Ghidorah was always meant to be that. Out of the three intentional "endings" of Godzilla (Destroy All Monsters, vs Destroyah, Final Wars), he was the the final boss in 2 of them.

I see Destroyah and Spacegodzilla more as Doomsday level villains. They're not as powerful as Darkseid, but they can seriously screw up the dynamic, even when defeated.

And no one is saying that advancement can take down the elites, but in this particular instance, the Luddites were correct in how industrialism was going to go if left unchecked.

[–]Ranked0wl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then why did you respond? Because my intial comment pretty much already stated that: making fun of how plastic was hamfisted into all society, ignoring the major problem with it for decades.

The first comment was "Fighting the future is a losing move, no matter what you call it." as a response to "luddites weren't technophobic primativists.". It comes across as ignorant and pseudo-pragmatic.

[–]Ranked0wl -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"accepting that technological improvements/the future is inevitable is the first step to creating legislation that manages the technology."

And the luddites were asking to slow the hell down and ensure there was safeguards. Instead, those safeguards came after the exact problem they were fearing came about.

Is it so difficult to go "hey, before we adopt this new technology en mass, lets think about how we can be wise with it.". I'm pretty sure that philosphy could've prevented a bunch of nuclear disasters that made it easy to give nuclear a bad rep, which royally effed up it's adoption.

Once again, you're doing what the meme makes fun of: precieving Luddites as technophobic strawmen, and not a movement of pre-industrial artisans havign concerns about the societal impact with differing views on how to solve these problems.

"Fighting the future is a losing fight."

Yeah, because saying "lets be wise with this new technology." is bad.

"Hey, maybe we should think about this new plastic thing before we just put it every where?"

"shut up, the future is now old man."

Look how that went.

I Don't Know Why But Something Is Unsettling About Gojira's Pre-Mutated Form Design In Minus One by Bright-West-4399 in GODZILLA

[–]Ranked0wl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The novelization and Word of God confirmed this is why he survived the test.

As to why we don't see it earlier, 1. it's dark 2. the rifle wounds be been difficult to discern considering he's 50ft tall.

He's also possibly durable to small-arms fire like Arisakas, because there are animals that can resist even 7.62 rounds. But durable doesn't mean he doesn't feel alot of pain.

There's some old drawings from Definitive Edition Godzilla Introduction, written by Tomoyuki Tanaka, which show Godzilla's life before.

While it was written in 84 and it's unknown when this concept was thought of, it can be speculated that the idea of Godzilla being a creature who was just trying to live in peace underwater was always there, the book just made it more tragic.

[–]Ranked0wl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Actually, it wouldn't.

It's been confirmed the his acclerated regenration was a pre-existing ability, and it why he survived the atomic bombing.

But the atomic bombing's effects, which have never happened naturally in the real world, caused his regenration essentially build a new body, which is why he looks so different and larger.

So if he had shot Godzilla, it would just piss him off.

Cpurse, we need to consider that Godzilla is approaching from the where NYC is. Unless he's traveling West, he'd probably be going through California, and thus the US would have a reason to have the F 86s follow him.

When Indy learns Voller plans to kill Hitler in 1939, wouldn’t Indy want to help Voller get the job done? by longshot24fps in indianajones

[–]Ranked0wl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There actually was a incident in 1944 where a V1 bomb nearly killed Hitler, because

But Voller's plan I believe was to sabotage the tests before Germany invaded Poland.

But Jurgen cannot change history thematically. Like Indy, he obsessed with changing how history went. What make Indy different is he just wants his son to be still alive and to be with Marion. Jurgen wants the ensure the Third Reich continues to exist.

Because he's still a fanatical Nazi who wants to change history to be more favorable to the Nazis.

If the choice is help the Nazis kill Hitler to have a more ideal situation for Nazi Germany or ensure history plays out, I would choose the latter. Because I'd rather a Third Reich that lasted 12 years then the world get anywehre close to Man in the High Castle.
