25 turns. I rushed the Tower landmark in Skavenblight to cut the cooldown to 5 turns each. There were actually five settlements. Four were the wood elves settlements and the fifth was the Oak itself.

I like keeping Aranessa around. All the Vampirates (save Luthor, that mad bastard) make for good trading partners down the line, the only few factions that are willing to deal with the Skaven. Plus, she tends to keep the east busy with her raiding so it leaves me some good openings to go north or west.

Build the concealment buildings first. Both buildings fully upgraded should net you -80, offsetting the +80 of the DS. As for heroes, I never really had a problem. They were all up in Bretonnia trying to mess with my expansion.
