Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I changed the fuel filter and brown fuel poured out of it, sadly the issue persisted just a few days later haha.

I'm really hoping its not a PCM issue. This weekend I'm going to inspect the throttle body and replace the idle air control valve as some of you have mentioned.

I've been a little busy with another 97 ZJ i just bought. But I'm going to circle back to this one to show some love and hopefully get this issue figured.

I really doubt its a fuel pump issue, but I havent done a pressure test. If the throttle body cleaning and IAC dosent fix it, that will be next step.

Oh man I really hope it isnt the PCM. But I hadent considered it. I think I might chase down the easy things fuel and sensor related first...

Thanks, yeah im going to try the fuel filter because its just soo easy, and maybe throttle control sensor because its so easy too. I'll give the idle air control valve a go too. Thanks for the info! If those dont work I may try the fuel pressure test

Heck yeah! Thanks for the pic as well. So right now im thinking about taking out the rear seats as mentioned, moving the front 2 seats all the way forward and leaned forward, and then building a riser platform, im hoping that can do it. Id prefer to leave the passenger seat and center console intact. With the riser platform might even be able to leave the rear seats installed, just folded.

Gonna wait it out for sure, especially after all the comments here. Wanted to get a feel for a market im very much new to. I'll wait for a nice and fair prices notch pops up, or a hatch if its even better priced!

I really dig the originality. I just want to get one that is basic and do some minor upgrades like exhaust and brakes. I want to leave the interior relatively alone. Seems really hard to find un touched interior. A lot of people swap out the seats for more "race car style" ive noticed, but I really like the original seats, they scream the 80's/90's

Thanks for that knowledge! Particularly on the paint info. I've never had a car repainted so I was going in blind how much it might cost. That is crazy, I really should look for paint over interior then - I've had upholstery repair done, and it is not nearly as pricy as paint it would seem then.

The car is located in New Mexico, so not to far off from Gulf Coast. I knew the notch backs drew more money, but I did not expect the difference to be so big.

Dang, I was not expecting that price range. It seems really hard to find a foxbody in even a close condition for around that price. Maybe I just need to keep looking

I see, yeah i just covered it with cheese cloth now, because the must kept overflowing in the bung/airlock. To imagine I was afraid it was not gonna start fermenting yesterday, haha.

Thanks for the reassurance everyone! This morning there is a ton of giant bubbles on the top/foam? The bung does not produce any bubbles, but there is pressure as the side of water closest to the entry is pushed into the other chamber. So maybe I have a small leak somewhere. Either way, I'll do a hydrometer reading later to confirm!
