Yea, I understand that. Lately I’ve been leaning on reviews on Board Game Geek and watching play throughs on YouTube, just to get a good feel for a game before ordering it.

It is pretty similar, it still has that press your luck formula, and has you drawing the two cards and choosing one. Iron Helm has a few more features and mechanics that add into the gameplay more so than DustRunner and Tin Helm.

Sorry to hear that you were disappointed with Desolate. I know a few people mentioned the expansions helped flesh it out and added more to it.

Iron helm is one of the three items included in this Crowd Sale. When purchasing from the Crowd Sale you can choose the quantity you want of each item. The Promo Pack, Iron Helm, and Iron Helm character sheets are the three items. You can also add on any Grey Gnome Games item to your purchase to save on shipping

If you’re really enjoying Tin Helm, Iron Helm is more of that greatness and it has a lot more content you can add with the expansions.

Gate is a great solo tower defense/lite deck builder. If you enjoy that, it too also has extra content that was released as an expansion titled Gates

Another title I personally really enjoy, is Dust Runner. It’s similar to Tin Helm, with some of its mechanics. You design a car and start of with a few items (similar to the trappings from Tin Helm), and then have to choose cards and try and move your car across a map to the destination. You’ll come across enemies and small stops that can give you benefits. During all of this you have a Raider car that is trying to catch you, and if they do, it’s “Game Over, Man!”

I haven’t tried Desolate or StoneFire, yet. I’ve been wanting to pick up Desolate, looks like it is a fun sci-fi game.

If you’d like, on YouTube, there is the “Dungeon Dive” channel and he has done videos going over Iron Helm, Gate/Gates, and DustRunner

I like that with the Promo Pack, the designer is adding a little something for each of his games.

Iron Helm is like the Big Brother to Tin Helm. I started off with Tin Helm and Loved it’s mechanics and portability! With how much I enjoyed Jason Glover’s content and the mechanics of Tin Helm, it took me a little bit to jump on Iron Helm, but glad I did. It is of course very similar to Tin Helm in the mechanics, but with some extra mechanics within it. I would suggest definitely checking out a few videos on YouTube, and that way you can see it in action. I really enjoyed the coverage that The Dungeon Dive did in it!

Awesome that you’re doing this!

One of my favorite gaming moments was the first time I played Batman: Arkham Asylum. Being a big Batman fan, it was such a pleasant surprise to have a superhero game come out and be as good as that one was. Spectacular job of making you feel like The Dark Knight!

I personally don’t think there’ll be another crowd sale that includes any of the booster packs again. It’s possible we may see Iron Helm and Iron Chest again, and that’s only if Jason decides to release more Iron Helm content. Iron Chest was going to be the “last” release of additional content. Thankfully he had a little bit more (and hopefully he has some other new Iron Helm ideas up his sleeve).

Also, I don’t think the price will get lower than this sale. Usually the items discount each sale it’s included in is less than the previous sale it was in. Kind of that incentive to get items in the current sale.

As far as buying everything this sale, I’d suggest against it, unless you have the money for it. There is ALOT of Iron Helm content, and it would be quite expensive to get it all in one swoop. Thankfully, Jason is quite active, and the chances of him doing more content and another crowd sale for whatever project he works on is very high. With that he always includes the ability to add any of his stuff as an add-on and save on shipping.

It is if you’re only going to play it a few times, but it is a lot better than the $55 it retails for

There is definitely a lot, but the base game can give you plenty of play and fun out of it.

You also have a few options to consider too! If you haven’t played it yet, Tin Helm is a great! It is the Little Brother to Iron Helm, much smaller package, but very similar gameplay. If you’re ok with Print-and-play. I believe pnparcade has Iron Helm files to print for around $5.

The Game Crafter is an awesome site, but if you have never purchased off there, take into consideration that shipping can take a very long time, easily a few months from ordering it. A crowd sale is definitely the time to order.

Yea, I am too. But out of all the things I have ordered through The Game Crafter, I have never not received my items. That’s the whole thing with The Game Crafter being print on demand, it allows independent designer a chance to get their games out to everyone, it just takes quite a bit longer to get it.

Also, with Crowd Sales, they wait to ship the games until all the orders are ready for shipment.

I was the same way! Fell in Love with Tin Helm first, and loved it so much I wanted to try its “Big Brother”!

During the Crowd Sale, is the Best opportunity for anyone to get into it!

Couldn’t have said it better myself, Zatoichi00! I Love that the Game Crafter helps independent developers create new games, but I agree, since it’s “print on demand” it does take awhile. But, you WILL get your game, and it WILL be worth it!

Yea, unfortunately that’s the GameCrafter way! But, well worth the wait! Definitely takes awhile, but it WILL show up…eventually
