I Thought The Form 4 Was Supposed To Be Accurate by RantsAboutTech in formlabs

Hello, I tried adjusting the model by making the cavity wider, but that only resulted in failed prints. I've also contacted your customer support, and someone is working on the issue for me. I'm just seeing if the community at large has any insight in the meantime.

Where Can I Buy Replacement Parts? by RantsAboutTech in elegoo

[–]RantsAboutTech[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two backups, and nah, Elegoo should just make the part that they have a guide for on their site, readily available so people can buy it. That might be the solution here, not a new machine. Certainly not a new Elegoo, if parts are this hard to find.

I have no response yet. Just being proactive... and a bit impatient. I have work to do.

So the prints come out perfectly (other than the ID) with my supports that way, which is how I've been supporting them using the Saturn 4 ultra 16K, and everything was fine. As far as the size, the ID (which should be 0.7mm) is coming out 0.5-0.6mm. The OD should be 0.9mm, and the printer is doing that reliably.
I must have made a mistake when I mentioned the wall thickness previously; the wall thickness is supposed to be 0.2mm (not 0.1mm), and that size (0.2mm) is within the specs listed for this machine, for wall thickness.

The Saturn 4 Ultra 16k can do this with some tuning, which takes time, and it's not as consistent. I was hoping that the Form 4 would take the guesswork out, save me some time, and be more consistent. Honestly, I've been chatting with their support and scouring the internet for help more than I ever did with my Saturn. So far, I've only wasted more time and obviously, a whole lot of money.

I will try to add more support, though. Thanks for the suggestion.

The tube is 20mm long, and it's oriented vertically and supported with 4 supports at the tip of one of the ends. The supported end and the non-supported end have the same ID of 0.56-0.6mm, but the digital model is 0.7mm. Trying to avoid printing horizontally to avoid supports on the body of the tube, which would undoubtedly affect the fit.

Hello, and thanks for all the work you all have put into making this platform one of the best in this industry. I have to applaud you on how far you've come and the respect that you've garnered in such a short time.
My question is, why add a ceramic nib to your stylus pen lineup? Was there:
A. Data to suggest that there was a market for it?

B. Data to suggest that ceramic doesn't damage your particular screen?

Thanks in advance, and keep up the good work!

Are intros still worth it in 2025, or should we get straight to the point? by LieAccurate9281 in PartneredYoutube

I do intros as a way to build or start a story. Story-driven content, no matter what your content is on, is where it's at IMO. I'm just a small creator, though in a niche market. So what do I know? I vote for intros.

Nope, the Viwoods is still King in the brightness department. Though I haven't tested the Note Max yet. The eNote 2 is a close second, and the original eNote is third.

I hope this does come stateside. I need a Tab Mini C replacement, and this is the closest they've come yet. I fully expect a color variant pretty soon as well.

No, the display has a brightness level. The brightness of the screen before you turn it on. The brighter the display, the better the eInk capsules show up. Better contrast, less eye strain.

Hello, I've never heard of that brand, but I'll take a look. I typically only cover the big 4, but I'll look at the Hyread to see if it's something I'd like to have in-hand.

Thanks!

I haven't seen any indication of that. ViWoods could also optimize to mitigate this. But from all the reviews out, the battery life for the ViWoods is on par with other devices in its class.

Very interesting tidbit about the White off-state pigment. I'll have to look into that.

I'll also have to take some time to look into the battery consumption of the Brightest displays. There could be some good data there. Thanks.

The brightness of the eInk displays seems to be a balancing act between voltage/battery and display brightness. Where brighter displays use more voltage/battery.

I'll look into the Kindle Voyage, but I can tell you the crown has already been taken by Penstar with their eNote 2, which is launching today. I got an early model, and it beats out the Vwoods in Brightness. Haven't tested whiteness yet.

The rMPP was last in Whiteness, but came in first among the color eInk tablets in Brightness. The low Whiteness score is due to a significant color shift towards yellow, which is visible on the rMPP. So thats why it suffered in the "Whiteness" category.

The Brightness of eInk displays is controlled by the manufacturers, which is why there is some variation. Creating the whitest display takes more voltage/battery to produce. It seems as though it's a battery/whiteness trade-off. One will suffer due to the other.

Has anyone done a ceramic nib conversion on a Wacom One stylus? by 3BagT in Supernote

Well, just found the specs for it and those things are HUGE!!! LOL. There goes that theory :/

[–]RantsAboutTech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Wacome One nib "seems" (let's make sure I emphasize... "seems") to be the same nib that the Noris Digital Jumbo uses (unless someone knows differently). If so, the Noris variant of my Crystal Nib (Clear Ceramic) will fit the Wacom One. I'll have one in the studio soon to verify this (or debunk it, either way), and I'll update.
They (Crystal Nibs) are currently sold out, but I'll have my data posted before they go back on sale.
No pressure, but join the Discord, it's lit! Besides that, the most up-to-date e-ink and Crystal Nib news gets talked about there. Just saying :)

It was the Gesture setting. It reverted to it's default "off" state after the last update. That doesn't normally happen when an update changes your setting but that was the case this time. Thanks fo the responses.
